A Spoonful of Sugar

A Spoonful of Sugar
I had a little crafting time last week and made a few cards for posts ahead of time as I knew this week would be a busy one for me with extended family! Valentine's Day is beginning to take over my creative mind as the new year approaches!  I came across Concord & 9th's Let's Chat set and used it along with some small images from the Birdie Banners set to create this simple valentine themed design. The circle was stamped first in gray ink and then the pretty sentiment was stamped on top.  The spoon was stamped and fussy cut before being popped up with foam dots.  A little sparkle was added to the spoon using a Wink of Stella brush marker.  The little heart was stamped, fussy cut and then popped up with foam dots.  I added subtle grains of sugar coming from the spoon using the little dots image from the Birdie Banners set. I hope you had a very happy weekend!  Onward to the new year!  I'm reflecting on 2016 and trying to make some resolutions for the new year ahead.  Little ones, though, because it's the little things that make the big things happen!

Happy Tuesday!

Let It Snow!

Let It Snow!
Happy Weekend!  Just a super simple winter themed card today as the busy holiday weekend begins! I came across this lovely snowflake ribbon die over at Simon Says Stamp and had to have it!  You know how that goes!  I die cut the snowflake and added silver sparkle to it with a silver Wink of Stella brush.  The sentiment is from Uniko Studio's Stunning Snowflakes set.  Oh, how I love the fonts on their sentiments!  I added three tiny clear sequins for embelishments.  The entire main panel is mounted on black card stock and popped up with foam dots.

Have a lovely weekend!

Sympathy Simplicity in a Card

Sympathy Simplicity in a Card
Wow, this week is flying!  Here it is Thursday, which means tomorrow is Friday and a busy weekend is ahead!  Spending time with extended family is in our plans.  What about you?  Will you be able to spend some extra time with loved ones this weekend or in the week between Christmas and New Year's Day? The dental office I work at requested some sympathy cards a while back.  It seems they've needed quite a few in recent weeks and like to have some handmade ones to send out to our patients and their families when the need arises.  I thought I'd share one of the designs I gave them. I die cut and stamped a simple feather image.  I popped it up on a white card base at a diagonal and aligned a simple sympathy sentiment alongside in the same color.  I love the look of monochromatic cards! I won't make this post long as I know most people are in the middle of holiday preparations this time of year!

Happy Thursday!

A CASology TOAST

A CASology TOAST
It's Tuesday and time for the final cue word challenge of 2016 over at CASology!  This particular challenge will be a two-week challenge to allow the design team to enjoy the upcoming holidays to the fullest and to give everyone plenty of time to join in during the busy days ahead! week-229-toast I remembered one of Lawn Fawn's stamp sets included a cute little toaster and toast, so that's the route I went with the cue!  I paper pieced the toaster and then stamped, colored (Copics) and fussy cut the toast before popping the pieces up with foam dots and adding a little sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  The sentiment and heart were added in black ink. I hope you'll take some time to visit the guest designer and design team blogs!  They work hard every week to design some fantastic CAS inspiration! DT Badge

2016 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

2016 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop
Happy Friday!  I had a little extra craft time yesterday and made another card for the oh-so-fun Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with the help of a little of that creative fuel called coffee!  It seems like I've been drinking more of it the last couple weeks as winter weather finally settles in around me! Winter 2016 Blog Hop I've been itching to use the fantastic Sip on This set from Clear & Simple Stamps!  I stamped the different sections of the cup in red and green and then added some sparkle with a Clear Wink of Stella Brush Marker.  The popped up circle is die cut using a Nestabilities circle die and stenciled with green ink using The Crafter's Workshop Mini Microbial Stencil.  The coffee cup is popped up right next to the circle with a little thicker foam dot to make it slightly higher.  The fun sentiment is also from the Sip on This set and is stamped in black.  I added some simple gold star and clear circle sequins as embellishments.  I am in love with this stamp set and, now that I've finally inked it up, I can't wait to brainstorm for more coffee themed designs! Clear and Simple Stamps Only a few more hours to link up to the 2016 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  I'm ready to start hopping myself, so need to grab some decaf this evening and go check out some of the inspiration in the hop's gallery!  Can't wait! Have a wonderful weekend!Continue Reading...

CASology BOW

CASology BOW
It's Tuesday and you know what that means!  A new cue word challenge is up over at CASology!  This week, it's all about the bow and whichever definition you decide to use for inspiration! week-228-bow I went with the definition that goes along with the season as people are busy wrapping presents and gearing up for the upcoming holiday! Winter 2016 Blog Hop This week is the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, so I just had to incorporate some sort of coffee cup into my design!  I used the cup in Uniko Studio's I LOVE Coffee stamp set and paper pieced it with decorative paper from Cosmo Cricket to make it look like one of those lovely red Starbucks cups!  I stamped and fussy cut the bow from an older Uniko set, adding sparkle with a Wink of Stella brush.  The main panel is die cut with a My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Rectangle die.  I tilted the cup, main panel and bow a bit to create a little visual interest as I just wasn't feeling it when I had everything perfectly straight!  The coffee cup is popped up with foam dots as well as the entire assembled main panel.  I love the contrast of the traditional red and green holiday colors. I hope you'll bop on over to the guest designer and design team members' blogs and say hello!  They work diligently each week to create inspiration and would love to hear from you! Remember to link up your own CAS design on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CST) for you chance to win the prize from this week's sponsor, Birch Press Design! 2016-birch-press-design-logo

CASology Space

CASology Space
It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over at CASology! week-227-space Even though there are lots of possibilities with for one, I went with the obvious.  Little creatures from space came to mind, so I dug out an old StampinUp! set and used a Pink and Main sentiment to finish the design. The little creature was stamped and colored with Copic markers.  The little red heart and simple sentiment are from Pink & Main's Little One set.  I added a touch of sparkle to the creature's body using a clear Wink of Stella brush maker.  Placing some of the design elements at a diagonal adds a little interest. I hope you'll take a little time to visit the design team and guest designer blogs this week!  They work hard each week to provide inspiration for the challenges and would love to hear a little hello from you! CASology SOFTness

CASology SOFTness
It's Tuesday and you know that means a new cue word over at CASology!  This week, we're getting a little soft.  Not with the rules of clean and simple card design, of course.  It still takes certain elements to create an effective CAS design (you can find them on the CASology blog)! week-225-soft With the number of stuffed animals collected over the years with four children in the house, teddy bears came to mind for this cue!  Uniko Studio has a rather adorable teddy bear image in the Sweet Baby set, so I used it to create my design.  I die cut the stitched main panel using one of the dies in Mama Elephant's Femme Frames.  The stitching on the die coordinates nicely with the stitching on the bear!  I used a piece of yellow decorative paper to paper piece the bear and then stamped the simple, pretty sentiment below it.  The main panel was then popped up on the card base using foam dots for a little dimension. I hope you'll take a little time to visit the design team and guest designer blogs this week!  They work hard each week to provide inspiration for the challenges and would love to hear a little hello from you! Rubber Dance Stamps Guest Designer!

Rubber Dance Stamps Guest Designer!
I'm back over on the Rubber Dance Stamps blog today with my final post as guest designer! 2016-nov-ruberdance-guestdesignerbadge This week, I created a simple thinking of you card design using the Bee stamp and one of the beautiful sentiments from the Just a Note set.  You can find all the details over on the Rubber Dance Stamps blog! I couldn't resist making a second card for today's post!  Once again, I played along with the November challenge of turquoise, pink and purple and included the optional birthday theme! 2016-nov-rubberdance-challengebadge

Bibi's birthday is coming up on December 4th, so Happy, Happy Birthday, Bibi!

2016-nov21-rubberdance-card2-wm I stamped the spiral circle (Round in Circles set) after applying turquoise, pink and purple inks with sponges.  I then stamped the birthday sentiment (Happy Birthday set) in black in directly on top of the circle image.  Then, three sequins were added as embellishments.  A very simple, one-layer, clean & simple card! I hope you'll not only check out all the beautiful images in the online store as well as follow along on their blog, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube accounts for lots of wonderful inspiration!
