CASology #114: FLUTTER (Kick)

It’s time for a brand new cue word challenge over at CASology and this week our hearts are all aflutter!

Well, some of our hearts are fluttering over this one, but not mine.  I will be the first to admit, inspiration did not come as easily with this word as others.  I thought of butterflies and hearts, but wasn’t wanting to go those routes as flying things and valentine type cards just aren’t prompting any creativity from me these days!  Pumpkins are on the brain, but those just don’t flutter that I’m aware of!

I ended up on a completely different track as I thought back over the summer months and swimming.  Flutter kick anyone?!

I stamped a little boy image I had buried in my stash, used only the shorts and legs & colored them with Copic markers.  I adhered everything but the legs and feet to the card, wanting them to kick freely!  I used one of Mama Elephant’s Creative Cuts dies and a metal sheet from Add a Little Dazzle (our sponsor this week) to create the wave, adhering it directly to the card base.  The sentiment was stamped last and is from a retired CTMH (Close to My Heart) set.

I really hope this guy knows how to swim because that’s a pretty big wave I gave him to master.  Sorry, little dude.

I hope you’ll take some time to visit the rest of the design team blogs as well as this week’s guest designer’s blog!  They’d love to hear from you!

Ok, I admit I hate butterflies, so 'flutter' really has me stumped.
But, your card is AWESOME. So creative and cute. What a great way to use the 'boy' stamp.

That is such a great interpretation… flutter kick. Wonderful card. At least now I am thinking of something other than a hummingbird and butterfly. Thank you!!

Lovely idea for the cue card Melissa…clever way to only stamp that little boy like this and to see him swim on the swim pool or inside the water..clever card Melissa…I wish I can be so clever like you…and please be patient I will search something sweet for your little lady…I am still busy with my big sohn he is now not in elementary school but in middle school also so many meeting with parents in his school and so many things for him to buy and to prepare….wish you have a great weekend and you have time for you self to make cards and to do blog hopping …hugs, Monika
