A Blog Named Hero Winter Holiday Challenge

A Blog Named Hero Winter Holiday Challenge
It's time for a brand new monthly challenge over at A Blog Named Hero and this month we're collaborating with Simon Says Stamp for a Winter Holiday theme! I created an arctic themed card using dies from Simon Says Stamp (SSS) as the focal point.  I die cut the penguin using the SSS Hugging Penguin Die and a combination of white and black cardstock.  The die cut heart is from the SSS Heart & Spoons die set and was used to cut the heart out of red cardstock.  I applied a touch of clear Wink of Stella to the heart for a little sparkle.  The white cardstock main panel was die cut using a SSS Stitched Rectangle die.  The assembled penguin was adhered directly to the die cut main panel and then the heart was popped up over the penguin using foam adhesive to give the design a little dimension.  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Baby Penguin set and was stamped in Versamark black ink.  The assembled main panel was then popped up on the white card base using more foam adhesive. I hope you'll come play along with us this month as we create winter holiday themed cards for your chance to win the prize from Simon Says Stamp, our collaborator!

A Blog Named Hero Copy a Designer Challenge

A Blog Named Hero Copy a Designer Challenge
Happy Monday!  It's time for a brand new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero and this month we're CASE-ing the cards of the design team!  I chose to CASE Michelle Lupton's card from the October 8th post. Neat & Tangled is our sponsor and I used some of their adorable little mice images from the Schoolhouse set to create this design.  I started by stenciling the background with the Neat & Tangled Hexastar stencil and Hero Arts Soft Pink ink.  The two mice were stamped and colored with Copic Markers (C3, C5, R20) before being die cut with the coordinating dies.  I cut a simple banner from a piece of black cardstock and then stamped the sentiment (from Hero Arts' Everyday Sayings set) in white ink.  The little heart (Better Together set) was stamped with the same pink ink as the stenciled area and embellished with Glossy Accents. The mice and the banner were popped up with foam adhesive on the card base for dimension.  I just love these little mice! I hope you'll play along with us this month for your chance to win the prize!  You can check out all the challenge details over at A Blog Named Hero!

Honey Bee Stamps Bear Hug

Honey Bee Stamps Bear Hug
Time is not being kind in our house.  It feels like the calendar continues to eat up the weeks and I realized yesterday that Halloween is only 2.5 weeks away and then we head on into the holiday season.  Thanksgiving is at our house this year, so I need to start planning! Today, I'm sharing a clean & simple card which uses the polar bear from Honey Bee Stamps' Flakey Friends stamp set.  The little bow tie is die cut using some decorative paper I had in my neglected paper stash.  The bear was stamped in black ink directly onto the card base.  I added a little pop of color to the polar bear's cheeks with a pink Copic marker.  The die cut bow tie us patterned paper. I'm not going to write a lot today with my to do list calling.  It's the beginning of school conferences this week and then company prep for the weekend!

Have a wonderful Thursday!

A Blog Named Hero October Critter Challenge

A Blog Named Hero October Critter Challenge
Happy first week of October!  Can you believe it's already here?! It's time for a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero and we're digging out all those cute critters in our stashes!  With Lawn Fawn collaborating with us this month, it's a piece of cake to find such things in my own personal stash!  Love their critters! I started my design by die cutting the main panel with the Stitched Journaling Card Die from Lawn Fawn.  I then stamped the Hero Arts Tree Trunks (S5477) image on the main panel with Memento London Fog gray ink.  I then die cut a heart out of the center using the heart die from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners Die set.  The little squirrel was stamped and colored with Copic markers before being cut out.  The apple was also stamped and colored with Copic markers.  Both of these stamps are from Lawn Fawn's Forest Feast set.  I added a little Crystal Effects to the apple for shine.  The sentiment was stamped in black and framed with a simple banner die from the same Stitched Journaling Card Die set used for the main panel.  Once all the design elements were ready, I popped them all up using foam adhesive for dimension. I hope you'll join us this month as we create with critters!  There are so many adorable images out there and I'm sure you have a few somewhere in your stash!

A Muse Studio October Sneak Peeks: Day 3

A Muse Studio October Sneak Peeks: Day 3
Hello, everyone!  I'm back today during the third and final day of sneak peeks for the A Muse Studio October Release!  Tomorrow is release day!  Do you have your wish list finalized?! For today's card design, I used the new Peace Die in a clean and simple way to create a holiday card.  To begin, I die cut a stitched tag using a die from the Tag Bundle Die Set.  Next, I grabbed a piece of watercolor paper and spritzed a little water on an acrylic block, adding a Grass reinker to add color.  I squished the watercolor paper on top of the wet acrylic block and then allowed the paper to dry before die cutting the word with the Peace Die.  Once dry, a little sparkle was added with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  I die cut the word again near the bottom of the tag and then set the watercolor paper into the space.  I used the letter centers from the white tag to fill in the spaces in the centers of the letters.  To keep the die cut word flush with the tag, I simply attached it a little piece of cardstock to the back of the tag and glued the die cut pieces to that.  Finally, I stamped one of the cute little birds from the Season's Tweetings set, colored it with Copic markers and cut it out before popping it up with foam adhesive to add a little dimension. The assembled main panel was then adhered to the white card base using additional foam adhesive.  Another quick and easy holiday card design that could so easily be mass produced!  Be sure and head over to the A Muse Studio blog today to see even more inspiration from the design team and leave a comment!

A Muse Studio October Sneak Peeks: Day 1

A Muse Studio October Sneak Peeks: Day 1
It's time for exciting sneak peeks over at A Muse Studio!  The October Collection is set to release this Friday and we're sharing little glimpses of winter/holiday goodness in the days leading up to that day! Today, I'm sharing a peek at a set called Season's Tweetings.  It's a fun set with some rather adorable winter critters and wonderful sentiments.  I used the polar bear for this design as well as a background stamp called Snowy Days.  The simple sentiment is from another of the new release sets that I'll be showcasing more tomorrow.  I used a stitched die from the Tag Bundle set to create the main panel, stamping the snowy background & sentiment in black ink.  The bear was stamped in Memento Tuxedo black ink before it was selectively colored with a red Copic marker.  The bear was cut out and popped up with a piece of foam adhesive. The assembled main panel was then popped up on the white card base using more foam adhesive.  This was such a simple card to make and is just perfect for all those upcoming winter wishes that need to be sent out!  With all the sentiments being released this week, you could very easily change the theme of the card! Stay tuned for more wonderful new release images and sentiments this week!  You're going to love this release!

CASology BUD

CASology BUD
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word again over at CASology! Kitty Bee Designs is returning as our sponsor and many of the design team are using images from the online store! I used the adorable Bamboo Plant Panda digital image to create my clean & simple design.  I had a leftover frame from a past project that I'd used Distress Oxide inks on and used it to frame my main image and sentiment, gluing it directly onto the main panel.  The panda was colored with Copic markers and a little sparkle was added to the heart with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  The simple sentiment is from an A Muse Studio set and is stamped in black.  I added the period with a fine tipped black marker.  The panda was popped up with foam adhesive as was the assembled main panel. I hope you'll take some time to visit the design team member blogs as well as our guest designer's blog!  They've created some wonderful inspiration and would love to hear from you!

Week 256 - Pizza Over at CASology, we're introducing a brand new cue word and having a pizza party in the gallery!  With SugarPea Designs as our sponsor this week, I chose to use one of their adorable fox images (Fall Fox set), pairing it with pizza themed things from Lawn Fawn's Pizza My Heart set. 2017 July4 PIZZA closeup The fox was colored with Copic markers.  I added polka dots to the jacket with my Copic blender pen.  The lower two pizza boxes were masked and then I stamped, fussy cut and popped up the top box with foam adhesive for dimension.  I stamped a little red heart on the main panel, adding sparkle with a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Glitter pen.  The main panel was die cut with a stitched die from the Mama Elephant Femme Frames die set. CASology STRONG

CASology STRONG
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This one is full of strength and it's going to be interesting to see how everyone interprets it! Week 244 - Strong I decided to use a digital image from Kitty Bee Designs to create my design.  This time of year, winds are often strong and kite flying is a popular spring time activity!  I printed the panda image and then framed it using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die.  I colored the kite with watercolors and then applied a thin layer of sparkle using a Clear Overlay Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.  The bear's eye spot was colored using a Copic C7 gray marker.  The sentiment is from the Precious Remembrance Shop Positive Thoughts set.  The finished main panel is popped up on the card base using foam adhesive for dimension. Be sure and go say hello on the design team member and guest designer blogs! DT Badge

A Muse Studio New Release Spring Chicks

A Muse Studio New Release Spring Chicks
Happy Monday!  I'm back with even more A Muse Studio inspiration today as a design team member and, this time, I'm using some of the adorable chicks included in the two new stamp sets!  I used the larger chick from the Happy Spring set and added two of the little chicks from the Sweet Easter set to create a trio of cuteness.  I simply stamped the chicks and then colored them using a little Neon Yellow Splash ink and a small Aqua Brush to lightly apply the color.  Then sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the one-layer design was done!  A quick design that can be used for a quick note or a spring/Easter occasion! amusestudio.com Be sure and check out all A Muse Studio has to offer!  The new release is so fun and perfect for spring/Easter projects you may be brainstorming! It's another cloudy day here today.  I tend to miss the sun after several days of gray overhead, but at least we have milder temperatures now and going outdoors is a bit more pleasant.   2017 SignatureContinue Reading...
