A Blog Named Hero’s 5th Anniversary Blog Hop Celebration!

A Blog Named Hero’s 5th Anniversary Blog Hop Celebration!
Have you heard?!  A Blog Named Hero is celebrating their 5 Year Anniversary today and tomorrow with a fabulous blog hop! 2017 Mar BlogHop Logo There have been so many wonderful companies who have sponsored the blog over the past 5 years and we wanted to give them a shout out as we celebrate this milestone, thanking them for their valued support over the past five years!  I have included the hop & prize details at the bottom of this post.  They can also be found over at A Blog Named Hero for easy reference and the full list of today's blog hop participants. As an A Blog Named Hero design team member, I created a card using some of Hero Arts' newest stamps!  I happen to love silhouette stamps and had to acquire the new Birthday Animal Silhouettes set as soon as I saw it!  So much fun!  I stamped the elephant in Soft Granite and the party hat in Crimson.  The little ball at the top of the party hat is a small accent pearl that I colored with a Copic marker!  I masked the water spray and used distress inks to add color.  The sentiment was stamped in black ink and then I added a touch of sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker. 2017 Mar BlogHopElephant Closeup

Today, I thought I'd share a super simple card using the fantastic new Stitched Eggs Dies all dressed up with some of the new Spring Floral Washi Tape!  I covered some Sugar (white) cardstock with the washi tape before die cutting it using three different sized stitched eggs.  I layered these together on the main panel with foam adhesive.  The sentiment is from the Sweet Easter set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Little twinkle dots (rhinestones) were added to the eggs in green and orange.  The assembled main panel was attached to the card base using foam adhesive for dimension. 2017 MelissaMarch2 Closeup WM Such a simple, quick card to make and I love that it uses washi tape!  No fussing over coloring! A Muse Studio Sneak Peek: Day 3
Today is the third and final day of sneak peeks for A Muse Studio's upcoming new release!  That means tomorrow is release day!  Doing a little happy dance, are you?! For today's sneak peek, I chose to create a watercolored design using one of the adorable bunnies in the new release along with the awesome new stitched egg die cuts! 2017 MarchMelissa3 Closeup WM I used a mixture of the fantastic Splash Inks to watercolor the eggs and main panel (using watercolor paper).  These sprays are so fun to use and, as you can see, can be used in other ways than the obvious!  I stamped the adorable bunny in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Vanilla cardstock before cutting it out and adhering it to the main panel with foam adhesive.  I attached the main panel to the card base using foam adhesive to add a little more dimension. It's time to get your wish list started if you haven't already!  Tomorrow's the big day!  While you're at it, go ahead and follow A Muse on Instagram and like their page on Facebook to keep updated on current events and the future new releases! A Muse Studio Sneak Peek: Day 2
It's Day 2 of sneak peeks over at A Muse Studio!  Today, I'm sharing a super clean and simple design I created with the new Happy Spring stamp set, being released this Friday!  It's a cute little set and this adorable bunny is one of the critters included in it! I stamped and fussy cut the bunny (coordinating dies will be available with the new release).  I die cut a little bow tie using one of the new release gingham cardstocks and the mini bow tie die.  I popped up the assembled bunny & bow tie with foam adhesive on the white cardstock base after stamping the simple sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. 2017 MarchMelissa9 Closeup WM Such a simple card and you could use a variety of patterned cardstock to vary the bow tie a bit!  Great for mass producing, but with a variety of patterns and colors! Tomorrow is the final day of sneak peeks!  You might want to get your wish list started because Friday the entire new release will be available in the online store!  Don't forget to follow along with A Muse on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates and inspiration! Excitement is in the air!  Today is Day 1 of A Muse Studio's sneak peeks for Friday's new release!  Spring and Easter are on our minds now and you're going to love what's included in the new goodies that will soon be in the store! For today's sneak peek, I chose to create a design using some of the new release patterned cardstocks for paper piecing!  If you like cuddly little bunnies, this release is for you!  Bunnies are running rampant (along with some other critters)!  The trio I used on this design are from the new Sweet Easter stamp set.  After paper piecing the bunnies, I layered them with die cuts from the Landscape Die set and chose Grass cardstock for the grass.  I assembled the scene on the main panel using foam adhesive for dimension. 2017 MelissaMarch1 Closeup WM Stay tuned for another sneak peek tomorrow!  In the meantime, go ahead and follow A Muse on Instagram and like their page on Facebook to keep updated on current events and the upcoming new releases!Continue Reading...

A Muse Studio Design Team Blog Badge Melissa Chipperfield   I've had A Muse Studio stamps in my stash for a few years now and to celebrate the exciting news, I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Squeeze the Day.  I watercolored the yellow splash and added a touch of sparkle to it using a Spectrum Clear Sparkle pen.  I stamped and fussy cut the lemon before coloring it with watercolor and adding shine with Crystal Effects.  The lemon image is popped up with foam dots for dimension.  I stamped the pretty sentiment in black ink.  The main panel is framed with black cardstock and popped up with foam dots.  I just love a bright, cheerful card and this particular set is perfect for the job! CASology FOLIAGE

CASology FOLIAGE
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  I think many of us are wishing for spring and the return of plant life in the landscape, so we're jumpstarting things a bit this week! I think of ladybugs and caterpillars when I think of foliage, so I combined bugs with a branch on my design!  I used Clear & Simple's Cute as a Bug set and stamped the two caterpillars in black ink before coloring with green Tombow Dual Brush Pens.  The branch and leaves were stamped on the card base before the caterpillars were attached with foam pieces.  I added the pretty sentiment in black ink.  To finish things, I applied a little sparkle with a Crafter's Companion Clear Overlay Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen and a little red heart shaped gemstone from A Muse Studio. I hope you'll take some time and visit the design team member and guest designer blogs this week!  There is so much beautiful inspiration to see! DT Badge

Hero Arts Hoppy Birthday

Hero Arts Hoppy Birthday
Happy Monday!  We're starting the week with snow.  Winter isn't over yet, after all! I am personally done with winter, so have started digging spring themed things out of my stash!  This Paper Layering Rabbit Die from Hero Arts grabbed my attention and I made a quick white on white design! I simply die cut the pop up portion of the die set and then added the simple sentiment (from the March My Monthly Hero Kit) in white!  The main panel is die cut with a stitched rectangle die to create a little frame. I hope your week is starting off on the right foot!  It's spring break here, so I'm not planning on a whole lot of crafty time in the studio this week!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Hero Arts Koi Hello

Hero Arts Koi Hello
It's almost Friday and I've been working away in my craft room this week, trying to work ahead for a change! Today, I was in the mood for a one layer card!  Hero Arts' new Color Layering Koi set was just perfect for what I had in mind!  I layer stamped the fish in Soft Vanilla & Soft Granite inks, stamping the eyes with Carcoal ink.  I used a clean fonted sentiment from Hero Arts' Everyday Sayings, stamping it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  To finish off the design, I added some subtle sparkle to the fish using a Spectrum Noir Crystal Clear Sparkle marker. 2017 Mar9 KoiCloseup I hope your week has been decent!  A busy one here, but we're doing okay! CASology LANDMARK

CASology LANDMARK
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word to put us back into brainstorming mode!  Like to travel?  This week's gallery will probably offer some sightseeing opportunities!  More the type who likes home and would rather sit back and enjoy life's events?  The gallery will most likely provide inspiration for those too! Week 239 - Landmark I went with a landmark I've never seen in person, but would love to some day, Big Ben!  I'd love to travel to England and see a few other things too! I used two A Muse stamp sets, British Invasion & Clever Girls (retired).  I stamped Big Ben and the trio of birds in black ink directly onto the card base.  I then die cut two hills (Landscape dies) using Grass cardstock.  The simple sentiment was stamped in black ink directly onto one of the die cut pieces.  The die cuts were then attached to the main panel using foam dots for dimension.  The assembled main panel was then attached to the card base using more foam dots.  I thought about adding embellishments, but my minimalist tendencies took over and I left things alone. You'll want to visit the design team members' and guest designer's blogs this week and see where they took the cue word! DT Badge
