A CASology Story

Once upon a time, there was a challenge blog that provided cue words to inspire creative minds to create a little something each week.  The only requirement was that the little something created had to be clean and simple.  Before long, 148 challenges had been issued and the design team members could hardly believe how amazingly inspiring the participants were!

I was trying to think of the stories I read as a child and Snow White came to mind.  "Mirror, Mirror on the wall..."  The Ton has a set full of frames that could work as mirrors, so that's what I went with!

I hope you'll take some time and visit the rest of the design team blogs as well as our guest designer's blog!  They've, once again, created some fantastic inspiration!

A CASology Wedding

It's time for a brand new cue word over at CASology and this week we're focusing on "wedding."

I focused on the typical sparkle found at most weddings...

The diamond image was stamped on a window sheet and then fussy cut.  I then applied a few layers of sparkle using my Wink of Stella brush marker before gluing the diamond to the card base with a clear glue.

I hope you'll take some time and visit the rest of the design team blogs as well as our guest designer's blog!  They've, once again, created some fantastic inspiration!

CASology: Flight of the Bumblebee

It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  It's time to let your creative minds take flight this week!

I immediately thought of the Flight of the Bumblebee musical piece, one of those pieces I have never attempted to play.  I find it fascinating enough just to watch someone else play it!

I stamped the elements of my design in a triangular layout for visual appeal.  Being a one layer card, I wanted to be sure and add a little interest, so brushed a little sparkle on the bee's wings and flower center using a Wink of Stella brush marker.  I hand drew the flight path using a fine tipped black marker.  All three stamps are from The Craft's Meow, a stamp company that sadly is no longer in business.

Be sure and stop by the blogs of the rest of the design team and this week's guest designer!  They've created some fantastic FLIGHT cards!

CASology Sweetness

It's Tuesday and time for a brand new CASology cue word!  This one is pretty sweet!

I couldn't help but think of the fragrance of a rose, so made a love themed card.

Stamps:  STAMPlorations (Rosebuds)

I kept it one layer and added a little interest by using some shimmery watercolor paints to color the roses.  I was so tempted to add some kind of embellishment, but convinced myself this was an effective design without any!

You'll want to go visit the rest of the design team members' blogs as well as this week's guest designer's blogs to see how they came up with their CAS designs!  Talk about talent!

Sorry I've been a bit quiet again here lately.  I have so much going on right now!  We've had company coming and going, church events, DD is now under the weather with one whopper of a respiratory virus, year end school events are in full swing and I'm trying to get continuing education hours finished up for my dental hygiene license which renews this summer!  One day at a time...

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Sweet Stamp Shop Grand Re-opening!

Today is such an exciting day!  Sweet Stamp Shop is having their Grand Re-opening complete with a new look on their website!  You have to go see it because it's fantastic!

To celebrate, I designed a card using a brand new image!  Talk about cuteness!

I framed the main image with a die cut heart.  The coloring was done with watercolors.  I added dimension with foam dots.  The sugar cubes are embellished with clear Stickles and I used washi tape, twine, black gemstones and sequins for a little extra fun.

Be sure and check out the store for the newest releases!  There have been so many exciting things happening over at Sweet Stamp Shop lately that you'll want to check out their blog to keep up with it all!

Have a great Thursday!

CASology News!

There's some exciting news being shared over at CASology today and we couldn't have a more appropriate cue word!  We didn't even purposely coordinate things!

I went with a baby themed card since that is always considered wonderful news, is it not?!  I made it gender specific this time.

I used a little onesie image from Uniko Studio's Sweet Baby set and then added the two part sentiment from The Alley Way Stamps' Yappy set.

Be sure and stop by the rest of the design team members' blogs as well as our guest designer's blog to say hi!  The inspiration they provide each week is phenomenal!

Prickley Pear Spring Chicks

Happy Monday!  How was your weekend?  I started mine out with some continuing education for work and then came home and started spring cleaning!  I have this spot in the house where I tend to throw things when company comes and it was time I took care of it once and for all!  I just need to take photos of all the kids' art work that's been piling up there and then I'll be done!  So excited!

I design for...

Today it's time for more Prickley Pear inspiration!  With spring supposedly arriving (Mother Nature is not currently providing any clues that would support the idea), I went with a chick theme.

These little chicks are just the cutest!  I colored them with Copic markers and then added some sparkle with a Wink of Stella brush marker.  The sentiment is from the Circles Set - Sentiments clear set.

It's on into the new week!  With a 4-day spring break coming up, DH and I are trying to decide what to do as a family.  It's not really warm enough yet to go visit any outdoor attractions, so that narrows down our choices a bit for now!

Have a marvelous Monday!

CASology Style

Well, here we are back to Tuesday again!  Ready for a new CASology cue word?  This week, it's all about style!  What's yours?  Mine is CAS.

Using Whimsy stamps (our sponsor this week), I created a fun, sparkly card.  To keep things CAS, I used some glittery decorative paper from my stash, but kept it minimal on the design to keep things feeling clean.  I die cut the glasses from the paper using Whimsy Stamps' Glasses & Bracket die set.  I tilted the die cut at an angle and then stamped the sentiment (from the Girl Talk sentiment set) below it.  I added the three tiny gemstones last for good measure.  The entire layered main panel & the glasses are popped up with foam dots for dimension.

Be sure and bop over to the blogs of the design team and this week's guest designer!  They love hearing from you!

I endured Mr. Winter's last laugh yesterday.  Thankfully, the roads are pretty well clear again and warmer temperatures are on the way!  That's March for you!

Happy Spring from Prickley Pear!

 I design for...

Spring has officially sprung!  A little snow is visiting us, but since it's March, it won't last long!  I'm longing for green in the landscape.  I see a few buds here and there, but no color yet!  Soon...

Stamps:  Prickley Pear (Dragonflies clear set, Happy Spring, Dragonfly Die Set)

I was thinking thoughts of spring when creating a card for today's Prickley Pear inspiration, so went with a dragonfly because I just love the shimmery green a dragonfly often shows off when flying by in the warmer days of the year!  I added a little sparkle to this dragonfly's wings with a Wink of Stella brush marker.  The trail was created with a black marker.

We had a wonderful weekend filled with a visit from some of my family.  So fun to get together and let the cousins play!

Have a marvelous Monday!
