Sweet Stamp Shop Grand Re-opening!

Today is such an exciting day!  Sweet Stamp Shop is having their Grand Re-opening complete with a new look on their website!  You have to go see it because it's fantastic!

To celebrate, I designed a card using a brand new image!  Talk about cuteness!

I framed the main image with a die cut heart.  The coloring was done with watercolors.  I added dimension with foam dots.  The sugar cubes are embellished with clear Stickles and I used washi tape, twine, black gemstones and sequins for a little extra fun.

Be sure and check out the store for the newest releases!  There have been so many exciting things happening over at Sweet Stamp Shop lately that you'll want to check out their blog to keep up with it all!

Have a great Thursday!

CASology News!

There's some exciting news being shared over at CASology today and we couldn't have a more appropriate cue word!  We didn't even purposely coordinate things!

I went with a baby themed card since that is always considered wonderful news, is it not?!  I made it gender specific this time.

I used a little onesie image from Uniko Studio's Sweet Baby set and then added the two part sentiment from The Alley Way Stamps' Yappy set.

Be sure and stop by the rest of the design team members' blogs as well as our guest designer's blog to say hi!  The inspiration they provide each week is phenomenal!

Prickley Pear Spring Chicks

Happy Monday!  How was your weekend?  I started mine out with some continuing education for work and then came home and started spring cleaning!  I have this spot in the house where I tend to throw things when company comes and it was time I took care of it once and for all!  I just need to take photos of all the kids' art work that's been piling up there and then I'll be done!  So excited!

I design for...

Today it's time for more Prickley Pear inspiration!  With spring supposedly arriving (Mother Nature is not currently providing any clues that would support the idea), I went with a chick theme.

These little chicks are just the cutest!  I colored them with Copic markers and then added some sparkle with a Wink of Stella brush marker.  The sentiment is from the Circles Set - Sentiments clear set.

It's on into the new week!  With a 4-day spring break coming up, DH and I are trying to decide what to do as a family.  It's not really warm enough yet to go visit any outdoor attractions, so that narrows down our choices a bit for now!

Have a marvelous Monday!

CASology Style

Well, here we are back to Tuesday again!  Ready for a new CASology cue word?  This week, it's all about style!  What's yours?  Mine is CAS.

Using Whimsy stamps (our sponsor this week), I created a fun, sparkly card.  To keep things CAS, I used some glittery decorative paper from my stash, but kept it minimal on the design to keep things feeling clean.  I die cut the glasses from the paper using Whimsy Stamps' Glasses & Bracket die set.  I tilted the die cut at an angle and then stamped the sentiment (from the Girl Talk sentiment set) below it.  I added the three tiny gemstones last for good measure.  The entire layered main panel & the glasses are popped up with foam dots for dimension.

Be sure and bop over to the blogs of the design team and this week's guest designer!  They love hearing from you!

I endured Mr. Winter's last laugh yesterday.  Thankfully, the roads are pretty well clear again and warmer temperatures are on the way!  That's March for you!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Happy Spring from Prickley Pear!

 I design for...

Spring has officially sprung!  A little snow is visiting us, but since it's March, it won't last long!  I'm longing for green in the landscape.  I see a few buds here and there, but no color yet!  Soon...

Stamps:  Prickley Pear (Dragonflies clear set, Happy Spring, Dragonfly Die Set)

I was thinking thoughts of spring when creating a card for today's Prickley Pear inspiration, so went with a dragonfly because I just love the shimmery green a dragonfly often shows off when flying by in the warmer days of the year!  I added a little sparkle to this dragonfly's wings with a Wink of Stella brush marker.  The trail was created with a black marker.

We had a wonderful weekend filled with a visit from some of my family.  So fun to get together and let the cousins play!

Have a marvelous Monday!

CASology Blossoms

It's time again for a brand new cue word challenge over at CASology!  After a week of what felt like tropical weather for this part of the country, we're ready for some blossoming in the landscape around here!  I'm pretty sure we're going to be waiting a bit longer for that to happen, however.

I went with watercolors...

I wanted to portray a flower blossom, but not so sure I pulled it off.  I don't claim to be any kind of watercolor artist, but I tried!  This is more likely abstract art!  I added a little sparkle to the flower "center" and a single gemstone to the sentiment.  I love that sentiment and like to pair it with flowers on other cards too.  It's from Prickley Pear's Hibiscus 2 clear set.

The rest of the design team and this week's guest designer would love to hear from you, so go ahead and bop on over to their blogs!

A Prickley Pear Father’s Day

Happy Monday! What a beautiful weekend we had here!  We spent time outdoors just drinking in the feeling of spring!  I'm beginning to think Mother Nature is being kind and is really giving us spring!

I design for...

Today, I wanted to share a Father's Day card which uses Prickley Pear stamps.  You may have noticed kraft cardstock is back on my creative radar and I've been reaching for it quite a bit lately!

I used a black and kraft color scheme and kept the main image monochromatic.  DH's father has a windmill on his property and this image reminds me of him!

Be sure and check out the Prickley Pear blog for more inspiration from the design team!

I hope you had a good weekend!  Now it's on into a new week for me with more mild weather!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Paper Smooches Baby Greetings

I spent a little time down in my craft room earlier in the week and was able to get a few cards made that were on my list!  It felt so good to have some quiet time to create!  It's been awhile.

One of the cards I made was a baby themed card.  I couldn't resist the little baby image from Paper Smooches' Pip Squeaks set!  Those big ole eyes entranced me!  I used one of the balloons in the Big Balloons Die set to create a little balloon for the little guy to hang onto!  This was personalized with a letter E for my new nephew.  I added a little sparkle to the three red hearts using a Wink of Stella brush marker and both the baby and balloon were colored with Copic markers.

I thought I'd play along with the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge which gives the photo below as inspiration:

I noticed the photo above seems to be from a child's room and the letters on the wall were what inspired me to personalize the balloon on my card!

I hope you're having a great weekend!  We spent the morning at a local museum and then had a pizza lunch in one of the parks!  The weather has been so nice over the past week!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Tropical CASology

It's time for a new CASology cue word and I think you'll like it!  We know spring is coming, but it feels like it's not coming quite fast enough.  Tropical thoughts are definitely in order, don't you think?!

"Tropical" makes me think of a beach so I had to dig out some kraft cardstock.  With a beach, one hopes for plenty of sunshine, so that's what I included on my card.  Both the sun and the clouds were created using STAMPlorations ARTplorations stencils.  I used a Lawn Fawn die to frame a little sky scene and popped it up to add a little dimension.  The simple sentiment was stamped in black on top of one of the clouds and then three yellow sequins were added.

I hope you'll take a little time to visit the design team members' blogs as well as this week's guest designer's blog!  They'd love to hear from you!

Precious Remembrance Planning Page + a Wedding Card

It's time for more Tuesday Ideas over at Precious Remembrance blog today & I'm sharing a planning idea! You can check it out here!

I also wanted to share a wedding card idea that came to mind while stamping the planner page.  I love it when things come together fairly easily!

I used the filmstrip from the Journey stamp set as a frame for a love struck couple of smiley faces from the Coffee Love stamp set.  The sentiment is from one of the sets in the newest release, This Moment.  I heat embossed it with black embossing powder

DS1 ended up being bitten by the stomach bug yesterday morning, so we're back to square one in that department.  Strict quarantine measures were in place all day yesterday, so now I can only hope for the best.  Half the family is still waiting to see if they'll be bitten.  On a happier note, however, the rest of us spent some much needed time out in the sunshine and warmer temperatures of the day!  DD was one happy camper!  Oh, the mud puddles that are appearing!

A Prickley Pear Merci

Happy Monday! For those of you who observe Daylight Savings Time, did you remember to set your clocks ahead or did you forget and show up late somewhere?

I design for...

Today is Prickley Pear inspiration day and I have a thank you card to share.

I have had this glittery chevron paper stashed away for quite some time.  I thought it might go well with a black and white color scheme sometime and today was the day!  The Eiffel Tower image is actaully part of a larger, more detailed image in the Flourished Oval Sentiments clear set.  I simple colored the tower with a black marker and stamped it by itself.  I then die cut the flourish and adhered it to the main panel.  I stamped the simple sentiment (also from the Flourished Oval Sentiments set) last.  Three black gemstones were added as embellishments and the entire main panel was layered on a piece of black cardstock before being popped up over the decorative paper with foam dots.  The tower has some sparkle to it as I used a Wink of Stella brush marker on it.

I love trying to figure out ways to stretch my stamps beyond their obvious use.  By singling out the tower, I was able to create a completely different look than if I'd used the image as it is in the set.

I hope you had a good weekend!  DH finished the basement bathroom, so I no longer have to run upstairs while crafting!  It's the little things in life, you know!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

 Print
It's about time I post my card for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  I've had my card made, but life happens.

There are tons of fantastic sponsors again this time around and that means lots of prizes!!!  Have you made your card yet and linked it up?!  You have until Friday, March 6, at 11:55 p.m. to do so!  You can find all the details here!

I used a bright yellow watercolor as a background for my coffee themed card as well as some little pink flower sequins to go along with the spring theme.

I used the adorable new Daily Brew set from Ms. Kimm Creates.  For ink, I used SU's Soft Suede, a color that is becoming a favorite of mine all over again lately.

After I and DS3 fell ill with the good ole "stomach flu" over the past two days, I'm finally feeling more like myself (although, coffee doesn't sound good quite yet!) and ready to tackle life again.  I must admit, I'm feeling a bit OCD when it comes to disinfecting things around the house with bleach water!  This stuff is one of the trickier viruses to get rid of, surviving on surfaces for days rather than hours.  DS3 will be staying home again tomorrow as his appetite isn't quite back to normal yet and I don't want to send him back to school contagious!  Holding my breath for the rest of the family!

I hope you've had a wonderful Wednesday!
