Sweet Panda Love

Is it Friday already?!  I'm positive it was Monday yesterday!

Today, I'm sharing a sweet and simple little card made with the Perfect Panda set from Sweet Stamp Shop, one of my favorite stamp companies!

I grouped all elements of the design into one corner, stamping with black & red inks.  I added a little Crystal Effects to the balloon for shine.

I just love the adorable little pandas in this set!  DS3 used to be in love with pandas, but seems to have moved on to zebra adoration now.  I'm trying to find a place we can go this summer that lets him get fairly close to a real one!  So far, I've found a location that lets you pet one, but I need to double check once summer is here as I know they rotate their animals.  Regardless, I'm pretty excited at the thought of surprising him!  He has a summer birthday and it would be so fun to include a little weekend trip to see his favorite animal!

It's a no school day here on the home front!  No snow in the forecast, but a scheduled teachers' inservice day.  We have lots of snow to play in outside from our recent snowstorm and the sun is supposed to appear after lunch if the weather people are correct!

Have a fabulous Friday!

CASology: Hot

It's time for a new cue word challenge over at CASology! I don't know about you, but I'm ready for this one!

We got a good foot of snow delivered to our doorstep over the weekend and, while I don't really mind it, I wouldn't mind if it all melted and spring arrived a month or so early either!

Hot reminds me of soup.  There are so many icky bugs circulating in our area that I have a pantry which contains a few cans of chicken noodle soup...just in case.  I'm crossing my fingers that we can all avoid fevers & the accompanying symptoms that are rampant right now!

I made a one layer card for today.  The bowl and sentiment are from the Paper Trey Comfort Food set.  I added a random little heart to the bowl and applied a touch of sparkle.

I hope you'll take the time to visit the design team members' personal blogs as well as our guest designer's blog this week!  They put so much effort into creating and supporting our participants each week!  They'd love to hear from you!

Don't forget to link up you're own HOT creation on the challenge blog for your chance to win May's brand new Valentine set (see CASology blog for details)!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Prickley Pear Penguin Friendship

Time for more Prickley Pear inspiration and today I wanted to share a friendship card I made using a cute little penguin from the Pumpkin & Snowman Clear Set!

Aren't those penguins cute?!  The nice thing is that there is a coordinating die set that contains a penguin shape to match!  No fussy cutting this time!  I used a stencil to create the background and added heart shaped glitter in a random fashion.  The penguins & the entire middle panel are both popped up with foam dots.  The "FRIENDS" sentiment is from the Blobby Flowers Clear Set.  Be sure and stop by the Prickley Pear blog for more inspiration from the design team!  The team has a great mix of design styles!

How was your weekend?  Mine was filled with fresh snow.  Literally.  We got over a foot of snow Saturday night through Sunday!  Talk about excitement in our house!  School has been cancelled today, so you can guess what the boys are going to be doing all day!  I do have cookie decorating on the agenda, so they'll be inside doing that at some point, but I'm betting they'll be outside digging and sledding most of the day!  Hot chocolate will be served!

Have a marvelous Monday!

CASology Birthday Greetings

It's Tuesday and that means there is a new cue word up over at CASology!  This week, it's all about the birthday!

My boys are so good at reminding me of their 1/2 birthdays!  Childhood.  Isn't it great?!

I decided to play with the glitter dryer sheet technique a little more for my design.

I'm loving glitter lately, so I hope you don't mind me covering another card with it!  I wanted to focus on the word happy, so made it the star of the show on this card!  Watercolor paints were used to create the rainbow background.

I hope you'll take a little time to visit the rest of the design team members' blogs as well as this week's guest designer's blog!  So talented!

Then, don't forget to link up your very own birthday creation on the CASology blog by Monday at NOON (CDT) for you chance to win a great prize from this week's sponsor, STAMPlorations!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Prickley Pear Birdcage Inspiration

Well, what do you know?!  Monday is here again!  How was your weekend?  Mine was quiet, but full.  Painting of woodwork and doors is happening now and that means that before long, there will be some serious craft room organizing needing to be done!

PPRS Blog

Today I'm sharing a simple card using some of those fabulous stamps from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps!

White on white was on my mind and I went with it to design this clean and simple card!  Black, white and a pop of red.  Classic and effective!  The birdcage is a die that coordinates with both the Birdcage and Birdcage Winter 2 clear sets.  The sentiment is from a set called Heart Key Crown, another clear set in the store.  I have so much fun combining images and sentiments from sets!  It opens a whole new world of possibilities when I don't limit myself to what is in a single set!

Onward and forward this week!  Another busy start here in my little world.  Then, the possibility of meeting up with a wonderful friend as the week comes to a close!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Precious Remembrance January Release + Giveaway!

It's time to announce the January new release over at Precious Remembrance Shop!  This month, not one, but two new sets are being introduced and I think you're going to like them...a. lot.

I used the This Moment stamp set to create my first card.  This set is full of simple sentiments and images which are perfect for scrapbooking/pocket pages, but I am envisioning lots of card ideas too!

I stamped the fun sentiment using a spectrum ink pad and then brushed over the stamped image using a clear Wink of Stella brush marker for a touch of sparkle.  Such a simple card, but perfect for all those times when you need a simple, just because card!

I used the Love Coupon stamp set for my second card, adding the "today" from the This Moment set.

This set is going to be so much fun to play with as Valentine's Day approaches!  Coupon books, anyone?!

For your chance to win one of these new stamps sets, be sure to leave a comment on all the blogs below!

CASology + NBUS

There's extra excitement over at CASology this week! We're joining the NBUS Challenge over on Darnell Knauss' blog! If by some chance you aren't familiar with Darnell and her wonderful sense of humor, you've got to head over to her blog right now and acquaint yourself with her! I promise you will find something to laugh at before you leave her blog! Every. Time.

We know NBUS isn't really a word.  It's actually a collection of words:  Never Been Used Schtuff.  Do you have any of that hanging around your house?!  I sure do!  If there is one thing other than stamps that I tend to collect these days, it would have to be glitter!  I used a variety of colors on my creation for this week after finding a whole kit of the stuff in my stash that has never been touched!

I used a Heidi Swapp butterfly stencil from my stash to contain the glitter, although, I found glitter clinging to most everything by the time I got done with this particular project!  DH may find glitter in the grout he just finished up in my craft room a little over a day ago!  I figure a little glitter never hurt anything!  The large, simple sentiment is one I've never used from a Winnie & Walter stamp set!

Be sure and stop by Darnell's lovely blog to say hello and then go ahead and do the same on the design team members' blogs & this week's guest designer blog!

Then, be sure and link up your own NBUS creation on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CST)!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Prickley Pear Dandelion Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday! It's time for more Prickley Pear inspiration and this time, I'm sharing a simple birthday card!

Using the beautiful Flourished Oval Die, I die cut a frame in the center of the main panel.  I then die cut a flourished oval out of black cardstock and stamped the main image (Dandelions) in white for a bit of a chalkboard look.  Love the look of negative die cuts! The sentiment was stamped last and is from the Spring Flourished Oval clear set.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  We've had my mom visiting us since last Thursday.  She's heading home today and we're all going to miss her!  There's nothing like a grandmother's love!

Now it's on into the new week!  Plenty to do and I have lots of "hope to do's" in my planner for the week, so I need to keep focused!

Have a marvelous Monday!

A Date with CASology

It's time for the first new cue word of 2015 over at CASology! How appropriate is this one?!  Do you have your calendars all filled out and hanging on the wall (or fridge, as in my case)?

I went with the obvious this week, thinking of Valentine's Day!

I used watercolor paper for the main panel and watercolored the main image.  I added a little sparkle to the girl olive's lips and added three gold sequins...although, after I attached them, I changed my mind...oops!  Too late!  In this case, I don't think embellishments were really necessary.  Ah well.

You are going to want to play along this week as there are not one, but three prizes up for grabs from Cindy B Designs, our sponsor!

Say hello to the design team members and this week's guest designer on their blogs and find out how the cue word inspired them!

It's a two hour school delay here this morning due to an overnight snow storm and frigid temperatures.  The boys have lots of energy and are headed outdoors...for a little while, anyway.  With negative temperatures, they don't stay out very long!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Just a Note from Prickley Pear

Here I am trying hard to start out this new year with more regular blog posts after finishing up 2014 with some rather quiet days! Today is Prickley Pear inspiration day, so I'm sharing a simple Just a Note card I created as last week was winding down.

Stamps:  Spring Flourished Oval Clear Set (Prickley Pear)
Accessories:  Flourished Oval Die (Prickley Pear), heart pearl, Spica markers, Copic markers, foam dots

I die cut a frame using a Flourished Oval Die from Prickley Pear.  Then, the image was stamped and colored with Copic markers, including Spica pens to add some sparkle.  I hand drew the music note and embellished with a heart pearl.  The entire framed image was popped up using foam dots.  The simple sentiment was stamped last.  The stamps in this particular set are so pretty!  Valentine's Day up next and this image would be perfect!

Being the first Monday of the new year and with everyone getting back to the usual daily routines, I'm ready to dig in and do some brainstorming for goals to set.  I'm not much one for setting big, flashy ones.  Just heartfelt, personal goals that I feel will make a difference not only in my own little life, but in the lives of those I am a part of.  Life is, after all, not only about me.

Have a marvelous Monday!

Prickley Pear Monday Mother’s Day Inspiration

Happy Monday!  It's time for more Prickley Pear inspiration and this week I'm sharing a quick Mother's Day card!

This card uses the Vases clear stamp set, one with multiple options for flower and vase combinations!
I stamped the vase on Brushed Silver (SU) cardstock using purple ink and the flower on white cardstock, coloring it with a Copic marker.  Both were fussy cut and then some shimmer was added using Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays.  I lined up the images and popped them up on the main, layered panel using foam dots.  The sentiment is from the Spring Scalloped Circles clear set.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are now ready to enter a new year!  How quickly time marches on!

Have a marvelous Monday!
