It's Tuesday again and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This week's cue word may very well help add a few belated birthday cards to your stash! I used a cute little image from My Favorite Things to create a simple design.  There are times when I've run a bit late, felt bad about it and could have used a card like this to offer my apologies! I first stamped the elephant and colored it with Copic markers.  I then die cut the main panel with a stitched rectangle die before stamping the the sentiment in black ink.  The little elephant was popped up above the sentiment with foam adhesive and then I added three clear star sequins.  I love clear embellishments as I feel they help a design feel a little less cluttered than colored ones.  There are times when I don't really feel like there is much room left for the addition of any kind of embellishments, but sometimes clear embellishments are the answer!  The finished main panel was popped up on the card base using additional foam adhesive. This week, we welcomed three new design team members, so be sure and go check out that post & help us give them a warm welcome!  Karen is joining us this week and Kevin and Bharati will join us with next week's challenge!

Be sure and link up your own LATE creation (on time, of course) over on the CASology blog by Monday at 9 A.M. (CST)!
Have a terrific Tuesday!

A Blog Named Hero’s 5th Anniversary Blog Hop Celebration!

A Blog Named Hero’s 5th Anniversary Blog Hop Celebration!
Have you heard?!  A Blog Named Hero is celebrating their 5 Year Anniversary today and tomorrow with a fabulous blog hop! 2017 Mar BlogHop Logo There have been so many wonderful companies who have sponsored the blog over the past 5 years and we wanted to give them a shout out as we celebrate this milestone, thanking them for their valued support over the past five years!  I have included the hop & prize details at the bottom of this post.  They can also be found over at A Blog Named Hero for easy reference and the full list of today's blog hop participants. As an A Blog Named Hero design team member, I created a card using some of Hero Arts' newest stamps!  I happen to love silhouette stamps and had to acquire the new Birthday Animal Silhouettes set as soon as I saw it!  So much fun!  I stamped the elephant in Soft Granite and the party hat in Crimson.  The little ball at the top of the party hat is a small accent pearl that I colored with a Copic marker!  I masked the water spray and used distress inks to add color.  The sentiment was stamped in black ink and then I added a touch of sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker. 2017 Mar BlogHopElephant Closeup

Elephants in my Head

I am seriously thinking about elephants too much this week!  With tomorrow's elephant themed birthday bash nearly here, that's where my mind wanders a good portion of the day!  I thought I'd share the simple birthday invitation I created for the occasion.  Simplicity is a good thing when multiple copies are needed!

The little red balloon is popped up with a foam dot for dimension and the grey is actually brushed silver cardstock from StampinUp!  The elephant is a Martha Stewart punch and the balloon is simply a circle punch!  I'll create a little tutorial for this when time allows under the Tutorials tab above.

Have yourself a fabulous Friday!  I'll be back tomorrow with a post for CASology!
