A Muse Studio September Sneak Peek, Day 2

A Muse Studio September Sneak Peek, Day 2
It's Day Two of Sneak Peeks for the A Muse Studio September Collection!  Today, we're featuring the Fierce stamp set, once that's full of encouraging words in beautiful fonts! I used the fantastic Pinking Circles dies to frame the sentiment, overlapping two pieces to reveal a little pop of pink behind the top white layer.  The pumpkin was stamped directly on pink cardstock and cut out before being popped up with foam adhesive.  I added a little heart in pink ink, embossing with clear embossing powder to add a little shine. I just love the pretty fonts in this set and I think you'll agree once you see all the unique sentiments included in it this Friday!  Stop back tomorrow for a sneak peak of the third stamp set releasing Friday.  You won't be disappointed!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

DREAMing of CASology

Week 211 - Dream It's Tuesday and time for a  new cue word over at CASology.  This week, we're focusing on dreams!  Don't worry, we're only asking for those that interpret into clean and simple design! I used the Trendy Butterflies stamp set from STAMPlorations, our wonderful sponsor this week to create a super simple diagonal design! 2016 Aug16 DREAM WM I stamped a diagonal line of five (an odd number) yellow butterflies to create a little movement and interest for the eye.  The two piece sentiment was added in black.  A trio of small, clear sequins was added as simple embellishments.  I used a clear Wink of Stella brush marker to add a little sparkle to the butterflies.  To me dreams and passion go together and that's where I went with my interpretation! I hope you'll stop by and leave the rest of the design team and this week's guest designer a little blog love this week!  They create such awesome inspiration each week for the CASology challenges! DT Badge   Don't forget to link up your own clean and simple creation on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CDT) to be eligible to win the prize from STAMPlorations!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Week 192 - Sprout It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over at CASology!  Spring is ever so slowly trying to arrive here in my part of the country.  I see evidence of new leaves cautiously making their appearance, knowing that Old Man Winter doesn't like to release his grasp any sooner than he has to.  Even with a sprinkling of snow in this week's forecast I keep reassuring myself that eventually people will be planting seeds in their gardens and new life will finally be sprouting beneath the thawed soil.  Soon. 2016 Apr SpringLeaf WM

I dug out an old StampinUp! set as well as a sentiment from Precious Remembrance Shop's DIY stamp set to create today's SPROUT inspired card.  I was looking for just the right image and this one came the closest to what I had in mind.  I wanted something that looked like brand new growth.  Oh, how I wished I had an image of a bean sprout in its earliest stage!  I even looked through the baby sets in my stash thinking surely there would be something along that line in them!  No such luck.

2016 Apr5 SPROUT WM1 I used a Heidi Swapp mini stencil to create the striped background.  I then stamped the black silhouette image & sentiment.  Three small clear sequins were added as embellishments.  The main panel was popped up for dimension using foam dots. Be sure and stop by the design team members' & guest designer's blogs to say hello!  They work hard each week to provide inspiration!

Then, be sure and link up your own creation on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CDT) for your chance to win the prize from this week's sponsor, So Suzy Stamps!
Have a terrific Tuesday!

CASology #105: Making a RUN for It!

I've been a runner since back in high school.  I vividly remember wanting to get myself into regular running and yet cringing a little at the thought, not quite sure if I could do it and actually stick with it...and truly enjoy it.  I started by running a few blocks.  After dark, mind you, so no one I knew in school would see me.  My parents had my younger brother bike alongside me to keep me company on those short little runs.  As I got older, I went on my own.  Still after dark, but for longer distances and on busier streets.  Today?  I still run, but not as regularly, not as far and usually on my treadmill.  I have a strong dislike for jogging with a stroller, usually ending up stiff & sore from not being able to run properly.  Someday I'll be back on the trail!  Maybe with DH again...or one of the kids!

My first pair of real running shoes were from a popular athletic company.  I still think their shoes are some of the most attractive out there, but I tend to choose shoes more for comfort now than looks and, unfortunately (or fortunately), a different brand is hugging my feet.  I am seriously considering giving them another chance, though, next time I need a new pair of shoes.  It's been quite a few years and, who knows?  Maybe they've come out with something I'd like.  For now, they are the inspiration for my card this week.

I have a few friends who run races regularly.  I figure I can send this to one of them soon.  I printed off a logo, taped it to some of Add a Little Dazzle's metal sheets and cut it out.  I adhered it to the card base and then stamped the message using Mama Elephant's Sketchy Letters alphabet.  Sometimes a creative message helps a CAS design by eliminating the need for any extra explanation.  The addition of a little colorful shine on the main image created simple interest and the message added the final touch.

I hope you'll join in this week's challenge over at CASology!  There are so many things that come to mind with this cue word!  In fact, I'll be sharing my other take on it later this week if someone else doesn't nab the idea before then!

Be sure and visit the design team members' and guest designers' blogs for inspiration and more detailed explanations of their CAS designs!  Then, don't forget to link up your own RUN creation on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CDT) for your chance to win a prize from Add a Little Dazzle, this week's sponsor!

Unity Friends with Flair

Every now and then I need a little reminder to keep my chin up.  We all have those days (or weeks...or months) when life just isn't the most enjoyable due to circumstances, etc.  It's good to remember that just because this moment or this day isn't looking so bright, that doesn't mean that the next moment or the next day has to be the same.  Each day holds out its own unique opportunities and I want to be looking for them and taking advantage of them!

I love this sentiment from Unity's April 2012 Kit of the Month!  I'm sharing this card over on Unity's Friday Friends with Flair link up party!  If you've got some Unity stamps handy, create a little something and join in the fun today!

I am also entering this into Challenge #32 over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Here is this week's sketch:
