Honey Bee Stamps Sending Sunshine

Honey Bee Stamps Sending Sunshine
Have you seen the Limited Edition set from Honey Bee Stamps that was designed specifically for the Ellen Hutson "United We Flourish" event?!  I created a design today using it and it's such a fantastic set with coordinating dies! I used the sun from the Partly Cloudy die set to cut a circular shape out of a strip of white cardstock.  I then used Distress Inks to blend ink onto the negative die cut sun shape and stamped a smaller sentiment (from the Sending Sunshine stamp set) in black in the center.  I removed the thin outline of the sun (this is actually the intended sun shape from the die) and placed the colored center back into the line up.  There are three loose pieces in the lineup and I used foam adhesive to adhere them to the card base.  I then die cut the large script sentiment from black cardstock, using a word die from the Sending Sunshine die set.  The sentiment was adhered directly on top of the popped up strip, leaving portions of it hanging off the edge.  A little cloud was die cut using another of the dies from the Partly Cloudy die set and popped up over the other design elements with more foam adhesive.  To finish, three little star sequins from the Hollywood sequin mix were added. This design was pretty easy to put together once I knew what I was doing in my mind!  I had played around with a couple other designs before this, but this one satisfied my clean and simple tendencies! We're gearing up for another exciting new release the week of September 17th, so you'll want to mark your calendars!  I'll tell you there are a lot of lovely autumn images on their way!  As usual, I'll be sharing sneak peeks here and on Instagram that week as we build up to the new release and blog hop that will happen on Friday, September 22! I hope you're having a wonderful Thursday!  We're still adjusting to school schedules and finishing up yearly check ups for family members this week!  Summer is definitely wrapping up, but with the cooler months ahead, there is plenty of prep work to be done!   Continue Reading...

CASology SQUARE’d

CASology SQUARE’d
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology! I immediately cut a 5x5 square card.  No clever thinking for me this week!  The adorable little girl is from Love Cynthia.  I just adore her stamps right now!  I colored the image with Copic markers after framing it with a Stitched Squares die from Simon Says Stamp.  I applied a little glamorous glitter to her glasses using a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  The sentiment is from the same company.  I added three silver star sequins (A Muse Studio) as embellishments and then popped up the main panel with foam dots for dimension. I hope you'll go say hello to the design team members on their blogs this week!  They've created some fantastic SQUARE inspiration for you!

A Muse Studio Chicks

A Muse Studio Chicks
I'm back today sharing some cute chicks from the A Muse Studio new release. logo I'm loving the Landscape Dies and decided to use the cloud shaped one to add a little dimension to the design.  I trimmed my die cut piece of Sugar cardstock to fit the corner of the card base.  The adorable little chicks are stamped on Lemon Whip cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, cut out and popped up beneath the stitched die cut with foam adhesive.  I colored their beaks with an orange Copic marker.  The sentiment was also stamped in black.  The chicks and sentiment are both from the new Sweet Easter set.  The stitched die cut was attached to the card base using foam adhesive. 2017 MarchMelissa6 Closeup WM This card would be a great friendship card, don't you think? That wraps up my marathon of ideas for this month's spring/Easter release!  Now I get to dig into next month's goodies and start brainstorming and designing!  You're going to love next month's new release!  Promise!   2017 SignatureContinue Reading...

CASology FOLIAGE

CASology FOLIAGE
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  I think many of us are wishing for spring and the return of plant life in the landscape, so we're jumpstarting things a bit this week! I think of ladybugs and caterpillars when I think of foliage, so I combined bugs with a branch on my design!  I used Clear & Simple's Cute as a Bug set and stamped the two caterpillars in black ink before coloring with green Tombow Dual Brush Pens.  The branch and leaves were stamped on the card base before the caterpillars were attached with foam pieces.  I added the pretty sentiment in black ink.  To finish things, I applied a little sparkle with a Crafter's Companion Clear Overlay Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen and a little red heart shaped gemstone from A Muse Studio. I hope you'll take some time and visit the design team member and guest designer blogs this week!  There is so much beautiful inspiration to see! DT Badge

Prickley Pear New Release Blog Hop: Day Three

It's the final day of the Prickley Pear new release blog hop!  I hope you've had fun hopping along so far!  Remember to leave comments on each stop for all three days of the hop to be eligible for the grand prize!  The winner will be announced February 23.

If you've arrived here from Angie's blog, you're on the right track!  If not, you may want to hop back to the Prickley Pear blog to start from the beginning!

For today, I used a sentiment from the new release and paired it with some watercoloring!

I watercolored a circular rainbow and then stamped the You Are My Sunshine sentiment in the center.  Three tiny, clear gemstones were added for embellishments.  The entire layered panel was popped up with foam dots for dimension.

Now head on over to Rita's blog for even more wonderful inspiration for the new release!  Have fun and good luck!

S’more i{heart}papers

I'm posting s'more cuteness from i{heart}papers today. This is my last post as guest designer for them!  I can't believe two months have already flown by! What fun!

I wanted to make a happy little campfire themed card since we've been having our fair share of backyard fire pit evenings this summer.  With roasted marshmallows, s'mores and sparklers, of course!  The evenings this summer have been absolutely perfect for such an activity and we're really enjoying them!

I used Lawn Fawn's Love You S'more & Into the Woods sets to create this card.  I paired the stamped images and sentiment with one of the speech bubbles from Avery Elle's Oh Yeah Dies.  The stamping was done with Memento Rich Cocoa Ink & the cute little fox was colored with Copic Markers.  Both the speech bubble and fox were popped up using foam dots to add a little dimension to the card.  I added a little yellow flower sequin from Lawn Fawn for interest and a little glimmer to the roasted marshmallow with a Wink of Stella Brush Glitter Marker.  I'm thinking this card will go to our neighbor who has been a steady playmate for the boys this summer!

We roasted marshmallows on our trip to Michigan last week!  We discovered a new park in the town we were staying in which had a fire pit and a fun little water play area.

DH ran after some marshmallows and matches while the boys collected some twigs and we had an impromptu campfire one evening!  DH once again explained the process involved to achieve a perfectly roasted marshmallow to the boys.

However, someone once again ignored the message...

...because he actually likes 'em this way (fully ignited and then blown out like a birthday candle)!

Owls are taking over my brain now as we prepare to celebrate DD's first birthday with extended family this weekend!   We did let her enjoy a little chocolate on her actual birthday just because that's what a girl is supposed to do on such an occasion!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
