It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This week, we're brainstorming with the word SEASON! Week 246 - Season I have been thinking about the seasons of life lately as my youngest is fast approaching school age and my oldest is getting way too close to starting high school!  Time really does fly and it waits for none of us.  I went with a sympathy card as it seems there have been many funerals for those finishing up their last season of life lately.  It really does make one stop and consider their own life. The flowers are from Uniko Studio's Uniko Style set.  The images were stamped in Amuse Studio inks.  The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and is from one of Paper Trey Ink's anniversary sets I found in my stash.  I love that this ended up being a one layer design.  I thought about adding some glitter, but had second thoughts considering the theme of the card! I hope you'll join us over at CASology this week as we see how everyone interprets this cue word!  Be sure and visit the design team members' blogs as well as Donna's blog (our guest designer this week) and see how they interpreted the cue word! Sympathy Simplicity in a Card

Sympathy Simplicity in a Card
Wow, this week is flying!  Here it is Thursday, which means tomorrow is Friday and a busy weekend is ahead!  Spending time with extended family is in our plans.  What about you?  Will you be able to spend some extra time with loved ones this weekend or in the week between Christmas and New Year's Day? The dental office I work at requested some sympathy cards a while back.  It seems they've needed quite a few in recent weeks and like to have some handmade ones to send out to our patients and their families when the need arises.  I thought I'd share one of the designs I gave them. I die cut and stamped a simple feather image.  I popped it up on a white card base at a diagonal and aligned a simple sympathy sentiment alongside in the same color.  I love the look of monochromatic cards! I won't make this post long as I know most people are in the middle of holiday preparations this time of year!

Happy Thursday!

Sympathy Simplicity

Better late than never.  That's my motto today.  Spring break has officially begun here in our household and it always seems to take a couple days to adjust to the relaxing of our more rigid routines!  By day's end, the boys were settled in and I'm thinking tomorrow should run a little more smoothly!

I did spend a little time in the craft room today with the boys (...because they asked me to!) and got a few things checked off my to do list that I can't share until next week.  However, I do have a very simple sympathy card I can share today!

I am absolutely loving Paper Trey's Words of Comfort set!  I am always looking for nice sympathy sentiment sets and this one is a winner in my book!  The flowers are from Unity and are a favorite of mine!  I added some clear Stickles to the flower center, but otherwise, this is a wonderfully one-layer card design!

I hope you had a great Monday!  Tomorrow will be an errand day for us...and might even include a little pizza?!

Until tomorrow,
