CASology 5-Year Anniversary Blog Hop!

CASology 5-Year Anniversary Blog Hop!
Today is the day!  It's finally here!  It's CASology's 5-year anniversary celebration and I hope you'll hop along with us because there is a ton of inspiration and some rather fabulous prizes up for grabs for those who do!  Just remember, the deadline is next Monday, July 31, at NOON (CDT) for hopping and being eligible for the prizes!  You must leave comments at all stops to be eligible to win!  For more hop details, including a list of prizes and the full hop list, head on over to the CASology blog! You should have arrived here from the CASology blog!  I'm the second stop on the hop! I happen to love hot air balloons and had to dig around in my stash for the balloon stamp set I just knew I had, but since I tend to be a bit of an "acquire it and forget about it for a while" kind of gal, it took a bit more digging than it probably should have.  Now, had I had my creative stash neatly documented and categorized like those wonderfully organized individuals we all see on Pinterest, I may have spared myself some frustration.  Good thing I'm not a quitter!  I actually found it!  Once I had it in hand, I wanted to make a thank you themed card because I feel I owe a lot of people a thank you during this milestone celebration! 2017 July25 DIAMOND WM I've been loving the Distress Oxide Inks for blending the last little while, so pulled those out to create a pretty skyline on the main panel.  Once dry, I dressed it up a bit by die cutting it with a stitched rectangle die and spritzed it lightly with some Gold Color Shine spray to add a little shimmer.  The skyline silhouette and simple sentiment were stamped in black ink. Three small silver star sequins were added as embellishments.  The assembled main panel was then popped up on the card base using foam adhesive for dimension. 2017 July25 DIAMOND closeup I won't keep you any longer, so head on to the next stop on the hop, Altenew!

Have fun and good luck!

A Muse Studio Thank You Inspiration

A Muse Studio Thank You Inspiration
Happy Monday!  Today, I have some bright orange thank you inspiration for you using A Muse Studio goodies! logo My first card was made using the gift card envelope die.  This die set contains a cute scalloped frame which I used with Onyx Shimmer Cardstock.  The sentiments & bold flower were stamped in black ink and the subtle flower images on the gift card envelope were stamped in orange ink.  I added a touch of sparkle to the flower center on the back with a glitter brush pen. 2017 AugRelease MelissaCard8 backview The second card I'm sharing today uses both the Bouquet Builder set as well as the fun Mad for Plaids set.  I die cut the stitched main panel using the Tag Bundle die set and then stamped one of the images from the plaid set in black along the lower edge.  The simple sentiment was also stamped in black just below the border stamp.  I stamped a single blossom in black and die cut it with the coordinating die.  To finish the design, I added a trio of clear sequins.  The assemble main panel was popped up with foam adhesive for dimension. 2017 AugRelease MelissaCard7 blog A person could vary the colors on these two designs very easily and these could be mass produced pretty quickly!

Have a marvelous Monday!

CASology FLY

CASology FLY
It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over on the CASology challenge blog!  We're FLYing this week with Rubber Dance Stamps as our sponsor! Week 255 - Fly I used one of the pretty birds from the A Little Birdie... set to create a simple thank you design.  I used white watercolor paper and splattered brown watercolor paint on it to create a simple neutral colored background.  Once dried, I stamped the bird image in black ink.  I kept things very clean and simple by not coloring the image at all!  The sentiment (from the Just A Note set) was stamped beside the bird in black and then three clear round drops were added as embellishments to add a little interest and dimension.  The assembled main panel was framed with black cardstock before being attached to the white card base using foam adhesive. I hope you'll take a little time this week to visit the design team member and guest designer blogs and leave a little blog love for them!  They've created yet another round of fantastic inspiration! CASology BOW

CASology BOW
It's Tuesday and you know what that means!  A new cue word challenge is up over at CASology!  This week, it's all about the bow and whichever definition you decide to use for inspiration! week-228-bow I went with the definition that goes along with the season as people are busy wrapping presents and gearing up for the upcoming holiday! Winter 2016 Blog Hop This week is the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, so I just had to incorporate some sort of coffee cup into my design!  I used the cup in Uniko Studio's I LOVE Coffee stamp set and paper pieced it with decorative paper from Cosmo Cricket to make it look like one of those lovely red Starbucks cups!  I stamped and fussy cut the bow from an older Uniko set, adding sparkle with a Wink of Stella brush.  The main panel is die cut with a My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Rectangle die.  I tilted the cup, main panel and bow a bit to create a little visual interest as I just wasn't feeling it when I had everything perfectly straight!  The coffee cup is popped up with foam dots as well as the entire assembled main panel.  I love the contrast of the traditional red and green holiday colors. I hope you'll bop on over to the guest designer and design team members' blogs and say hello!  They work diligently each week to create inspiration and would love to hear from you! Remember to link up your own CAS design on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CST) for you chance to win the prize from this week's sponsor, Birch Press Design! 2016-birch-press-design-logo

Winners will be announced on December 9 in the November Challenges and Hops winners post on the STAMPlorations blog. Winners have until December 20 to claim their prize. I created a clean and simple design for the hop using the new Be Thankful set and coordinating dies!  You can purchase these as a bundle in the store! 2016-nov-bethankfulbundle-image This is such a heartwarming set!  I especially love the stitched details on the die cut sentiment! 2016-nov16-givethankshop-wm Since I'm a CAS kind of gal &, at this stage in my life, have little time to sit and color in detail, I did some selective watercoloring on the main image and love how it turned out!  The die cut sentiment is stamped with indigo colored ink (StampinUp!), one of my favorite colors, and popped up with foam dots!  The main panel is a stitched die cut rectangle and is popped up with foam dots for a little dimension. Below is the link up containing all participating designers.  Remember, by playing along, you become eligible for additional prizes! EMBRACE CASology

EMBRACE CASology
It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over at CASology!  Time to, once again, embrace your clean and simple side and start brainstorming design ideas! week-224-embrace I went with the obvious this week and couldn't resist using a cute little panda as the main image.  I die cut the rolling hills using using Mama Elephant's Landscape Trio die set.  A few foam dots added dimension.  The panda was stamped directly on the card base, but the balloon body was stamped and fussy cut before being popped up with foam dots.  The simple sentiment is from Reverse Confetti's I Like You set. CASology Doodles

It's time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This week, we're doodling...or stamping doodle images...or creating whatever DOODLE makes us think of!  I chose to use an image from STAMPlorations' SmallBirds - The Bee's Knees set & a sentiment from their Grateful Beyond Words set for my design. I stamped the sentiment and bird image first and then added the die cut heart, popping it up with a foam dot to add a little dimension to an otherwise one layer design.  I applied a little sparkle to the heart using a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.   Then, don't forget to link up your own creation on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CDT) for your chance to win a prize from STAMPlorations, our sponsor this week!

CASology Challenge #172

It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  It's an appropriate one for this month, I think!

I thought about this one a bit and decided to go with a thank you card.  After all, one of those is usually sent following someone's generosity, right?!

Stamps:  STAMPlorations (Trendy Butterflies, Mini Mixed Media Backgrounds, Grateful Beyond Words)
I stamped the background image in Soft Suede ink (StampinUp!) & then added the sentiment in black.  The butterfly was stamped in black on Soft Suede cardstock and fussy cut.  It was then spritzed with gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray before being popped up with a foam dot for dimension.

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!

CASology Zombies!

It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over at CASology! Are you easily frightened or do you like a good scare? You might find the CASology gallery interesting this week...

http://casology.blogspot.com/

I went with something not so scary.  Zombies tend to make me think of splatter and the color red.  You too?!

Stamps:  Concord & 9th (Lots of Blots)
Concord & 9th has a fantastic set called Lots of Blots and it just seemed to grab my attention for this challenge!  I stamped the sentiment circle and two splatter images.  I then stamped the small heart from the set & fussy cut it before adding sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  I popped up the heart with a foam dot for a little dimension.  I love black, white & red on CAS card designs.  There's just something so clean about that color scheme!

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week's guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!
