Hello! I'm back with a little Honey Bee Stamps inspiration using a word die on a clean & simple design! I used a white 5x5 cardbase for this design. A piece of white cardstock was cut into a 4x4 size and then the stitched square was die cut in the middle of it using one of the dies in the Honey Bee Stamps' Double Stitched Square Die set. Rather than using the middle square from the resulting cut, I used the outer stitched frame. I then cut a 4x4 square from a piece of kraft cardstock and adhered then stamped multiple leaves from the Bushel and a Peck stamp set in white on it. Once those were dry, I adhered the narrow white frame directly to the kraft piece. Next, I die cut the word twice. The Thanks die comes with two dies, one is bold and thick. The second die is more of a script font and much more delicate. I die cut the bolder one in black and the delicate on in kraft and then glued them together. I used foam adhesive to adhere the assembled word to the main panel. The finished design was then adhered to the card base using more foam adhesive to give the overall design some nice dimension. I don't know about you, but autumn weather somehow makes me reach for kraft cardstock. Loving this change when creating designs this time of year! I'm sure I'll ease back to completely white designs as the snow begins to fly, but I'm enjoying the warmth that kraft cardstock brings to designs!
It's Tuesday again already! Time continues to fly! CASology has a cue word filled with good FORTUNE this week. What a fun word with plenty of room for interpretation! I went with a little pirate from Jaded Blossom Stamp's Pirate Booty stamp set! Such a fun set filled with cute pirate sentiments! You should see what the design team and our featured guest designer created for this cue! Head on over to the CASology blog and then go ahead and visit their individual blogs for more details and to say hello! Continue Reading...
Today is World Gratitude Day and I wanted to be sure and take time to say THANK YOU to those who visit my blogs, Instagram feeds and Facebook pages, supporting my creative adventures with kind words and encouragement. It's definitely a journey and when I look back at where I started, it's crazy how much my crafting style has changed over the years! It takes time and lots of patience to find your personal niche, but today I can truly say I believe I've finally found mine in the clean and simple world of card making. My photography continues to evolve and I feel like I'm still trying to find my true, defined niche with that, but I'm enjoying the journey! The creative community is such a wonderful place filled with outstanding individuals who uplift each other daily. I know I've had the privilege of having the loving support of fellow creatives throughout the world and I want to pass on the same with heartfelt gratitude, inspiring others to have the courage to keep creating, keep believing and use your creative gift to touch the lives of those in need. My simple card for today is filled with thankfulness despite it being super clean & simple. I used the pumpkin from a new set called Acorn Sisters from Honey Bee Stamps as the main image, stamping it on white cardstock and spritzing it with a little gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine. It was fussy cut and popped up on a watercolored die cut panel with foam adhesive. The little sentiment was stamped in black and little sequins were added as embellishments. The assembled main panel was then popped up on the white card base with more foam adhesive and the design was complete! I hope you've had a wonderful Thursday! Be sure and visit the Honey Bee Stamps online store at midnight tonight when the new release goes live! Continue Reading...
It's the final day of the September Collection sneak peeks over at A Muse Studio! That means tomorrow is Release Day! Are you excited?! Today, we're featuring the Eat, Drink & Be Thankful set. I decided to create a simple tag to highlight the wonderful, large sentiment included in this set. The tag was created using the tag die that is included in the Tag Bundle die set. I stamped the pretty sentiment in French Roast ink and then added two little orange twinkle stickers and Vanilla twine as embellishments. So simple, but I am envisioning this little tag being put to use for Thanksgiving festivities! Head on over to the A Muse blog and be sure to leave a comment on the sneak peek posts for your chance to win! Then, get that wish list ready for tomorrow! Happy shopping! I'll be back with more new release inspiration, so be sure and stop by here on my blog over the next few days!
Have a wonderful Thursday!
It's release week over at A Muse Studio! The September Collection will become available this Friday and we're sharing three days of sneak peeks to gear up for release day! Today, I'm sharing a peek at the new Hello Pumpkin set! Using a monochromatic color scheme, I used gold embossing powder & star sequins to add a little interest and shine to the design. I stamped each pumpkin in black ink and cut them out. The gold embossing powder was applied to the spots on one and then I popped up the trio of pumpkins using foam adhesive. The sentiment was added in black and three gold star sequins were used as embellishments. I love black and gold together and those spots on the pumpkins were just crying out for a little gold accenting! Stay tuned for another sneak peek tomorrow of a brand new sentiment set. You'll love it, especially with October right around the corner!
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!
Today is the day! It's finally here! It's CASology's 5-year anniversary celebration and I hope you'll hop along with us because there is a ton of inspiration and some rather fabulous prizes up for grabs for those who do! Just remember, the deadline is next Monday, July 31, at NOON (CDT) for hopping and being eligible for the prizes! You must leave comments at all stops to be eligible to win! For more hop details, including a list of prizes and the full hop list, head on over to the CASology blog! You should have arrived here from the CASology blog! I'm the second stop on the hop! I happen to love hot air balloons and had to dig around in my stash for the balloon stamp set I just knew I had, but since I tend to be a bit of an "acquire it and forget about it for a while" kind of gal, it took a bit more digging than it probably should have. Now, had I had my creative stash neatly documented and categorized like those wonderfully organized individuals we all see on Pinterest, I may have spared myself some frustration. Good thing I'm not a quitter! I actually found it! Once I had it in hand, I wanted to make a thank you themed card because I feel I owe a lot of people a thank you during this milestone celebration! I've been loving the Distress Oxide Inks for blending the last little while, so pulled those out to create a pretty skyline on the main panel. Once dry, I dressed it up a bit by die cutting it with a stitched rectangle die and spritzed it lightly with some Gold Color Shine spray to add a little shimmer. The skyline silhouette and simple sentiment were stamped in black ink. Three small silver star sequins were added as embellishments. The assembled main panel was then popped up on the card base using foam adhesive for dimension. I won't keep you any longer, so head on to the next stop on the hop, Altenew!
Have fun and good luck!Continue Reading...
Happy Monday! Today, I have some bright orange thank you inspiration for you using A Muse Studio goodies! My first card was made using the gift card envelope die. This die set contains a cute scalloped frame which I used with Onyx Shimmer Cardstock. The sentiments & bold flower were stamped in black ink and the subtle flower images on the gift card envelope were stamped in orange ink. I added a touch of sparkle to the flower center on the back with a glitter brush pen. The second card I'm sharing today uses both the Bouquet Builder set as well as the fun Mad for Plaids set. I die cut the stitched main panel using the Tag Bundle die set and then stamped one of the images from the plaid set in black along the lower edge. The simple sentiment was also stamped in black just below the border stamp. I stamped a single blossom in black and die cut it with the coordinating die. To finish the design, I added a trio of clear sequins. The assemble main panel was popped up with foam adhesive for dimension. A person could vary the colors on these two designs very easily and these could be mass produced pretty quickly!
Have a marvelous Monday!
It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over on the CASology challenge blog! We're FLYing this week with Rubber Dance Stamps as our sponsor! I used one of the pretty birds from the A Little Birdie... set to create a simple thank you design. I used white watercolor paper and splattered brown watercolor paint on it to create a simple neutral colored background. Once dried, I stamped the bird image in black ink. I kept things very clean and simple by not coloring the image at all! The sentiment (from the Just A Note set) was stamped beside the bird in black and then three clear round drops were added as embellishments to add a little interest and dimension. The assembled main panel was framed with black cardstock before being attached to the white card base using foam adhesive. I hope you'll take a little time this week to visit the design team member and guest designer blogs and leave a little blog love for them! They've created yet another round of fantastic inspiration!

It's Tuesday and you know what that means! A new cue word challenge is up over at CASology! This week, it's all about the bow and whichever definition you decide to use for inspiration! I went with the definition that goes along with the season as people are busy wrapping presents and gearing up for the upcoming holiday! This week is the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, so I just had to incorporate some sort of coffee cup into my design! I used the cup in Uniko Studio's I LOVE Coffee stamp set and paper pieced it with decorative paper from Cosmo Cricket to make it look like one of those lovely red Starbucks cups! I stamped and fussy cut the bow from an older Uniko set, adding sparkle with a Wink of Stella brush. The main panel is die cut with a My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Rectangle die. I tilted the cup, main panel and bow a bit to create a little visual interest as I just wasn't feeling it when I had everything perfectly straight! The coffee cup is popped up with foam dots as well as the entire assembled main panel. I love the contrast of the traditional red and green holiday colors. I hope you'll bop on over to the guest designer and design team members' blogs and say hello! They work diligently each week to create inspiration and would love to hear from you! Remember to link up your own CAS design on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CST) for you chance to win the prize from this week's sponsor, Birch Press Design!

Today is the day! The Giving Thanks Blog Hop is beginning over at STAMPlorations! There are 38 designers participating, 15 being from various challenge blogs and blog events that STAMPlorations has had the privilege of sponsoring over the last year and a half. As the creator of CASology, I was asked to be a part of this fantastic hop. Of course, I said, "Yes!" I want to be sure and say THANK YOU! to Shery for all her faithful support of CASology! We are so grateful for you! There are prizes to be won by commenting on the participating designers blogs, plus additional prizes up for grabs by joining in the linky party (see below)! Prize details can be found on the STAMPlorations blog. Commenting ends November 30 at 11:55 p.m. Pacific and the link up is open until November 30. Winners will be announced on December 9 in the November Challenges and Hops winners post on the STAMPlorations blog. Winners have until December 20 to claim their prize. I created a clean and simple design for the hop using the new Be Thankful set and coordinating dies! You can purchase these as a bundle in the store! This is such a heartwarming set! I especially love the stitched details on the die cut sentiment! Since I'm a CAS kind of gal &, at this stage in my life, have little time to sit and color in detail, I did some selective watercoloring on the main image and love how it turned out! The die cut sentiment is stamped with indigo colored ink (StampinUp!), one of my favorite colors, and popped up with foam dots! The main panel is a stitched die cut rectangle and is popped up with foam dots for a little dimension. Below is the link up containing all participating designers. Remember, by playing along, you become eligible for additional prizes! Continue Reading...
