CASology HOUSE

CASology HOUSE
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This week, we're exploring a common word with lots of possibilities! Week 254 - House Rubber Dance Stamps is sponsoring us this week and I used an image from their Textured Houses stamp set to create my clean & simple design! 2016 Rubber Dance logo The main panel was created using a stitched rectangle die from the A Muse Studio Tag Bundle die set.  I watercolored a simple background in soft blue and green using pearlescent watercolors.  Once dry, the houses were stamped in black ink.  I stamped the heart image (from the Beautiful Words set) in red before fussy cutting it and popping it up with a foam dot.  I added a touch of sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  The finished main panel was attached to the card base using foam dots. Be sure and check out what the design team members and our guest designer created this week to inspire! DT Badge

A CASology TOAST

A CASology TOAST
It's Tuesday and time for the final cue word challenge of 2016 over at CASology!  This particular challenge will be a two-week challenge to allow the design team to enjoy the upcoming holidays to the fullest and to give everyone plenty of time to join in during the busy days ahead! week-229-toast I remembered one of Lawn Fawn's stamp sets included a cute little toaster and toast, so that's the route I went with the cue!  I paper pieced the toaster and then stamped, colored (Copics) and fussy cut the toast before popping the pieces up with foam dots and adding a little sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  The sentiment and heart were added in black ink. I hope you'll take some time to visit the guest designer and design team blogs!  They work hard every week to design some fantastic CAS inspiration! DT Badge

Rubber Dance Stamps Guest Designer!

Rubber Dance Stamps Guest Designer!
I'm back over on the Rubber Dance Stamps blog today with my final post as guest designer! 2016-nov-ruberdance-guestdesignerbadge This week, I created a simple thinking of you card design using the Bee stamp and one of the beautiful sentiments from the Just a Note set.  You can find all the details over on the Rubber Dance Stamps blog! I couldn't resist making a second card for today's post!  Once again, I played along with the November challenge of turquoise, pink and purple and included the optional birthday theme! 2016-nov-rubberdance-challengebadge

Bibi's birthday is coming up on December 4th, so Happy, Happy Birthday, Bibi!

2016-nov21-rubberdance-card2-wm I stamped the spiral circle (Round in Circles set) after applying turquoise, pink and purple inks with sponges.  I then stamped the birthday sentiment (Happy Birthday set) in black in directly on top of the circle image.  Then, three sequins were added as embellishments.  A very simple, one-layer, clean & simple card! I hope you'll not only check out all the beautiful images in the online store as well as follow along on their blog, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube accounts for lots of wonderful inspiration! CASology STITCHes

Week 213 - Stitch It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over at CASology! My brainstorming started with exercise in mind, knowing I'm going to have to work through a few side stitches when I finally get serious about running regularly again this fall!  My mind continued on to think about the holidays and all the comfort food that will soon be appearing on our plates as cooler days begin to make their way into our lives again.  With Your Next Stamp as our sponsor this week, I just had to use this adorable penguin! 2016 Aug30 STITCH WM DH and I are always responsible for baking the pies over the holidays and this little penguin (Waddles - Sweetie Pie set) just makes me smile as he's doing a happy dance and juggling those fresh baked pies!  Wonder if he's getting side stitches??  Just in case my train of thought was too far fetched, I used a stitched frame die to dress up my design a bit.  The inside simply says, "Happy Thanksgiving!" I used the coordinating dies to cut out the penguin and pies, coloring each image with Copic markers.  I added a little sparkle to the adorable little guy using a clear Wink of Stella brush marker. I hope you’ll stop by and leave the rest of the design team and this week’s guest designer a little blog love this week!  They create such awesome inspiration each week for the CASology challenges! Thirty-One!

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="802"] Source: Thirty-One[/caption] Nope.  That's not my age!  I passed that lovely number a few years ago!  Instead, I'm having an online Thirty-One party through tomorrow evening (Wednesday, July 20)!  I wasn't very familiar with the products until just recently, but I have to say, I'm impressed!  I'm an organizer at heart and I've seen so many awesome organizational ideas using these products!  If you've been looking for new ways to organize your crafty stash, you may want to check out some of these ideas...

Personalized Cubes & Caddies!

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="564"] Source: Pinterest[/caption] I think these little Creative Caddies are so cute too!  Would totally make markers (Copics, Zigs, etc.) portable! [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="547"]https://s3.amazonaws.com/catalog.thirtyonegifts.com/images/products/1500/6105318A.jpg Source: Thirty-One[/caption] I'm looking forward to seeing what these organizers can do in my craft space and throughout the house!  There are also purses, wallets and jewelry in the online store, so you'll have to take a look!  I keep going back and looking again!  Aargh! CASology ROUGH

Week 207 - Rough It's Tuesday and time for a brand new CASology cue word!  This one had me a bit distressed when brainstorming, but I finally resorted to my usual...coffee.  When the going gets tough, the coffee starts brewing in my house. 2016 July19 ROUGH WM Both the main image and sentiment are from STAMPlorations, our sponsor this week!  Did you know they now have dies in the store?!  How awesome is that?! I had found some colorful watercolored looking papers a while ago and put a piece to use on the cup.  I didn't watercolor the cup!  It's a piece of decorative paper!  I simply stamped the cup image on the paper and fussy cut it!  I did watercolor the flow of coffee in brown.  The sentiment was stamped once that was dry.  Since the cue word is "rough", I distressed the edges of the main panel before popping it up with foam dots.  I find diagonal lines on a design appealing to the eye. I hope you'll take some time and visit the rest of the design team members' blogs as well as our guest designer's blog!  Go ahead and leave them a little blog love! CASology ROW

Week 204 - Row Happy Tuesday! It's time for a brand new CASology cue word! This week, we're brainstorming over a rather small word that has several possibilities. My interpretation is probably stretching things a bit, but hey! 2016 June28 ROW WM With Mint Owl Studio as our sponsor, I decided to use some popsicle images from their Ice Cream, You Scream stamp set.  Wondering how in the world this has anything at all to do with the cue word?!  With it being summertime, I have a confession to make.  Sometimes I eat a couple popsicles in a row, one right after the other.  There.  I admitted it.  My kids do it too, but when the serving size on the back of the box says 2, it's only right to eat a full serving of ice & food coloring! I stamped three popsicles in a random fashion before coloring them with Copic markers, using a monochromatic color scheme to keep things simple for the eyes.  I drew the drips by hand and colored those also.  The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo black ink.  Crystal Effects was used to add a little shine and dimension to the popsicles and drips.  The main panel was mounted on black cardstock and popped up with foam dots. I hope you'll take some time to visit the rest of the design team members' blogs as well as our guest designer's blog!  They've created some fantastic inspiration! DT Badge

CASology SPRINKLEs

It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This week, we're brainstorming with the word SPRINKLE!  For me, this word is typically a very happy one and makes me think of those colorful little things the kids sprinkle all over cookies, cupcakes...counters and floors.  However, in the spirit of spring rains, I went with an umbrella image instead. 2016 Apr26 SPRINKLE I used a couple of older Paper Trey Ink sets, Scattered Showers and Scattered Showers Additions.  The handle was stamped first and then I stamped the main part of the umbrella in SU's Tempting Turquoise and fussy cut it before popping it up with foam dots to add a touch of dimension.  I added a trio of raindrops to serve as a sprinkle, adding a touch of sparkle to each one with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  The sentiment was stamped in black. I hope you'll stop by the blogs of each design team member and this week's guest designer!  A little sprinkle of blog love always makes anyone's day! DT Badge

It’s All About MOM at CASology!

Week 194 - Mom It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This week, it's all about MOM!  Mother's Day will be here before we know it and it's always good to get our cards made before it's too late! STAMPlorations is our sponsor this week and they have some perfect stamps for the occasion!  You can check them out here!  I used the Unconditional Love stamp from the Subway Art Builders Series to create my design. 2016 Apr19 MOM I stamped the words in purple and added tiny clear gemstones to the trio of flowers on the lower left.  The main panel was matted on matching purple cardstock and then popped up with foam dots for dimension.  I love the mixture of fonts on this stamp and felt it really didn't need much else to help showcase it! Don't forget to visit the design team and guest designer blogs and say hello!  They work so hard each week to provide inspiration! DT Badge
