A Muse Studio August Collection New Release Day!

A Muse Studio August Collection New Release Day!
Today is release day over at A Muse Studio and you're going to love it all! logo I created a modern looking design for the first card in my post today.  It reminds me a little of some of the decor in the hotels these days with bold color blocks!  I simply cut three strips of varying colors (Orange, Grass, Buttercup) to create a square main panel, adhering them to a square piece of Sugar cardstock.  Once assembled, I stamped a row of three leaves (Bouquet Builder set) on the center of the panel.  The main panel was then popped up on the card base (5x5) with foam adhesive for dimension and the simple sentiment was stamped below and slightly to the right. 2017 AugRelease MelissaCard6 closeup For my second card, I used the ice cream cone image from the You're Cool stamp set. 2017 AugRelease MelissaCard10 blog I simply stamped three cones, die cut them using the coordinating dies and colored them by spritzing each one with a different color Splash spray!  Super easy coloring!  Once dry, I colored the cone portion with a brown Copic marker and applied a little glitter to the ice cream using a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  The cones were then popped up with foam adhesive and the banner sentiment (from the same set) was stamped below in black ink. 2017 AugRelease MelissaCard10 closeup For a limited time, you can get this set FREE with any $35 purchase!  How great is that?! You're Cool Set So much fun and versatility in these new sets!  Summer blooms and ice cream?!  I'm loving these!  Go check them out in the online store!

Have a fabulous Friday!

Excitement is in the air as we gear up for the release of the A Muse Studio July Collection!  This Friday will be the big day and you are going to love this beautiful collection of new products! logo Today, I'm sharing a card using the new Summer Blooms set, a gorgeous collection of floral images with coordinating dies to match! I wanted to make a pocket with flowers peeking out and the Chevron Pennant Duo dies were perfect for the idea!  I used the smaller of the two dies, scoring and folding over the top of it before adding a line of pretty pink, polka dotted paper tape (also releasing this Friday!).  I stamped the flowers in Hibiscus, Melon, Cotton Candy inks & the leaf sprigs in Evergreen ink before die cutting them with the coordinating dies for the new stamp set.  The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink on the pocket.  I then layered the flowers behind the pocket, attaching the pocket to the Sugar card base with foam adhesive for dimension.  I finished the design by adding little white pearls to the flower centers as embellishments. 2017 JulyCollection Melissa1 closeup

A Muse Studio Seahorses!

A Muse Studio Seahorses!
Happy weekend!  It's a holiday one here in the U.S! Today, I'm sharing some adorable seahorses from the A Muse Studio June Collection new release!  They're included in the fantastic Let's Be Mermaids set. I die cut a circle on the Sugar cardstock card front using one of the dies from the Pinking Circles Die Set.  The sentiment was stamped in black ink below the die cut circle.  The seahorses were stamped and colored with a water brush and Papaya pigment ink.  The heart was stamped in Poppy ink and then both the heart and seahorses were cut out using the coordinating dies for the stamp set.  The glitter background was created using Mermaid glitter on a separate piece of cardstock.  A piece of clear cardstock was attached to the back of the card front.  The seahorses and heart were attached to the glittered cardstock with foam adhesive and three clear sequins were added.  The assembled piece was then attached to the back of the card front to create a little scene behind the clear cardstock covering the circle window. 2017 May Melissa2 closeup I love glitter and this particular color makes me smile!

Have a happy Saturday!  I'll be back soon with even more June Collection inspiration!

CASology COMMENCEMENT

CASology COMMENCEMENT
It's time for a new cue word over at CASology!  With all the graduations going on this month, we thought we'd provide a gallery of inspiration for the occasion this week! Week 248 - Commencement I used a stitched die cut from Mama Elephant's Femme Frames to create the hat base, cutting it to fit on the card base at an angle.  I stamped the letters from A Muse Studio's Rino Alphabet in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, following the edge of the hat.  I punched a 3/4-inch circle, cut it in half and heat embossed it with Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder.  I popped it up on the hat with foam adhesive.  The assembled hat was then popped up on the card base using foam adhesive. We have two graduations to attend this year.  Both are kids that were just three years old when we moved to the area!  Time really does fly!  Our own children are living proof of that and whenever I attend graduations, I find myself reminded again just how quickly children grow up.  And how fast life itself goes by.  Every day counts. Have a terrific Tuesday!Continue Reading...
