CASology DIAMOND

CASology DIAMOND
It's time for a new cue word over at CASology!  This week's gallery will be filled with diamonds.  Sounds great, no?! Week 258 - Diamond I thought about this one for a while before settling on a kite image that I found in my stash.  I happen to love kites.  They make me feel like a kid all over again every time I get the opportunity to fly one.  That is, until I run around for a while and notice I'm not quite as spry as I used to be! I started this design by watercoloring two overlapping, shimmery clouds with pearlescent watercolors on a die cut stitched panel (A Muse Studio Tag Bundle dies) of watercolor paper using a Clouds stencil by STAMPlorations.  The kite is from a retired StampinUp! set called Send Me Soaring.  The string was stamped in black ink and then the kite was stamped in red ink before being fussy cut and popped up with foam adhesive.  The sentiment (from Honey Bee Stamps' Message in a Bottle set) was stamped in black ink and three silver star sequins were added as embellishments.  The finished main panel was popped up on the card base using foam adhesive for dimension.  I added just a touch of sparkle to the kite using a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Sparkle Pen. 2017 July18 DIAMOND closeup I hope you'll take a little time and visit the blogs of the design team members as well as our guest designer!  They'd love to hear from you! CASology WISH

CASology WISH
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  It's all about wishes this week. Week 257 - Wish I chose to use a Uniko Studio image, our sponsor this week!  I love their sentiment sets and the Big & Bold - Wish set is one of my favorites!  I used blue and purple Distress Oxide inks to create the rich colored background, spritzing the dried panel with Heidi Swapp white Color Shine spray.  I stamped the bold sentiment and coordinating smaller sentiment in Versafine black ink.  Three little gold star sequins were added as embellishments and then the finished main panel was layered on top of a piece of black cardstock to frame the design.  The assembled piece was popped up on the card base using foam adhesive for dimension. I love that this design could be varied simply by changing the background colors!  Need a masculine card?  No problem!  Just add more masculine colors! I hope you'll play along with us this week!  The word WISH can be interpreted so many ways!  I almost went with a fairy tale theme!  Go say hello to the design team members when you get a chance!  They'd love to hear from you!

CASology PIZZA

CASology PIZZA
It's Independence Day here in the U.S.A!  I'm spending time with extended family for the holiday, but am writing this post ahead of time so it will post while I'm enjoying my time away! Week 256 - Pizza Over at CASology, we're introducing a brand new cue word and having a pizza party in the gallery!  With SugarPea Designs as our sponsor this week, I chose to use one of their adorable fox images (Fall Fox set), pairing it with pizza themed things from Lawn Fawn's Pizza My Heart set. 2017 July4 PIZZA closeup The fox was colored with Copic markers.  I added polka dots to the jacket with my Copic blender pen.  The lower two pizza boxes were masked and then I stamped, fussy cut and popped up the top box with foam adhesive for dimension.  I stamped a little red heart on the main panel, adding sparkle with a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Glitter pen.  The main panel was die cut with a stitched die from the Mama Elephant Femme Frames die set. I hope you'll go check out the inspiration on the design team members' blogs as well as our guest designer's blog!  They'd love to hear from you! DT Badge

CASology FLY

CASology FLY
It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over on the CASology challenge blog!  We're FLYing this week with Rubber Dance Stamps as our sponsor! Week 255 - Fly I used one of the pretty birds from the A Little Birdie... set to create a simple thank you design.  I used white watercolor paper and splattered brown watercolor paint on it to create a simple neutral colored background.  Once dried, I stamped the bird image in black ink.  I kept things very clean and simple by not coloring the image at all!  The sentiment (from the Just A Note set) was stamped beside the bird in black and then three clear round drops were added as embellishments to add a little interest and dimension.  The assembled main panel was framed with black cardstock before being attached to the white card base using foam adhesive. I hope you'll take a little time this week to visit the design team member and guest designer blogs and leave a little blog love for them!  They've created yet another round of fantastic inspiration! CASology HOUSE
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This week, we're exploring a common word with lots of possibilities! Week 254 - House Rubber Dance Stamps is sponsoring us this week and I used an image from their Textured Houses stamp set to create my clean & simple design! 2016 Rubber Dance logo The main panel was created using a stitched rectangle die from the A Muse Studio Tag Bundle die set.  I watercolored a simple background in soft blue and green using pearlescent watercolors.  Once dry, the houses were stamped in black ink.  I stamped the heart image (from the Beautiful Words set) in red before fussy cutting it and popping it up with a foam dot.  I added a touch of sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  The finished main panel was attached to the card base using foam dots. Be sure and check out what the design team members and our guest designer created this week to inspire! DT Badge

CASology INSECTS

CASology INSECTS
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This week it's all about insects and what they make us think of! Week 252 - Insect I chose to use the ever adorable Cute as a Bug sets (Well Preserved Jars set and Party Elements set) by Clear & Simple Stamps to create this get well card.  I created the spider web using one of the thin line images and then added a little black bug, coating it with Crystal Effects for some shine.  The spider was stamped dangling from the top of the card.  I kept the color scheme black and white to keep it super clean and simple!  I added a black piece of cardstock behind the main panel to bring out the black a bit more.  I just love the font of the sentiment!  So classy! I hope you'll play along with us this week as we explore what this cue word makes everyone think of!  We're currently waiting for a praying mantis egg to hatch in our house as a summer project for the kids.  Truthfully, it kind of creeps me out, but I love seeing the excitement in at least two of the boys as they anticipate the arrival of these crazy creatures!  Amazing creatures, but so not my thing!  Eeek! The design team members and this week's guest designer would love to hear from you, so go give them a little virtual wave if you have time this week! DT Badge

CASology Medicine

CASology Medicine
It's time for a brand new cue word over at CASology! Week 251 - Medicine The first thing that came to mind was the Mary Poppin's song, "A Spoonful of Sugar".  I didn't go with the sugar, but did use a spoon with medicine flowing from it!  I masked the flow of medicine, using Broken China Distress Oxide ink.  The spoon (Paper Smooches Healthy Vibes set) was stamped in black and then I paper pieced the medicine to match the masking.  The spoon was fussy cut and popped up with foam adhesive.  The sentiment was stamped in Black Versafine Ink to finish the design.  Super simple! Take a look at what the rest of the design team and this week's guest designer created for inspiration this week! DT Badge

LOUD with CASology

LOUD with CASology
It's Tuesday and a new cue word is up for brainstorming over at CASology! Week 250 - Loud There are many interpretations one could use for this word.  I went with a music themed interpretation.  Music can get a little loud sometimes! I used the jukebox image from Sunny Studio's Sock Hop set to create my clean & simple design.  I used their wavy border dies to cut out two sound waves from white cardstock.  These were adhered to the card base using liquid adhesive.  I then stamped the jukebox in black ink and colored it with Copic markers.  A little sparkle was applied to the center of the jukebox with clear Spectrum Noir glitter brush pens.  The jukebox was popped up using foam adhesive for dimension.  The sentiment and music notes were stamped in black ink to finish off the design. Go take a look at what the design team and this week's guest designer designed for inspiration! DT Badge

CASology COMMENCEMENT

CASology COMMENCEMENT
It's time for a new cue word over at CASology!  With all the graduations going on this month, we thought we'd provide a gallery of inspiration for the occasion this week! Week 248 - Commencement I used a stitched die cut from Mama Elephant's Femme Frames to create the hat base, cutting it to fit on the card base at an angle.  I stamped the letters from A Muse Studio's Rino Alphabet in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, following the edge of the hat.  I punched a 3/4-inch circle, cut it in half and heat embossed it with Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder.  I popped it up on the hat with foam adhesive.  The assembled hat was then popped up on the card base using foam adhesive. We have two graduations to attend this year.  Both are kids that were just three years old when we moved to the area!  Time really does fly!  Our own children are living proof of that and whenever I attend graduations, I find myself reminded again just how quickly children grow up.  And how fast life itself goes by.  Every day counts. CASology FLOW
It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over at CASology!  We're going with the flow this week.  Altenew is our sponsor and I used their Let the Wind Carry You set to create my design.  It's such a sweet set! 2015 Altenew   Week 247 - Flow I stamped all images and the sentiment with VersaFine Black Ink.  The pinwheel was then stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed with Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder.  With that, I called it good!  A simple, one layer design! 2017 May2 FLOW closeup I hope you'll visit the design team and guest designer blogs when you have a chance!  They've put together some awesome inspiration this week! CASology SEASON

CASology SEASON
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This week, we're brainstorming with the word SEASON! Week 246 - Season I have been thinking about the seasons of life lately as my youngest is fast approaching school age and my oldest is getting way too close to starting high school!  Time really does fly and it waits for none of us.  I went with a sympathy card as it seems there have been many funerals for those finishing up their last season of life lately.  It really does make one stop and consider their own life. The flowers are from Uniko Studio's Uniko Style set.  The images were stamped in Amuse Studio inks.  The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and is from one of Paper Trey Ink's anniversary sets I found in my stash.  I love that this ended up being a one layer design.  I thought about adding some glitter, but had second thoughts considering the theme of the card! I hope you'll join us over at CASology this week as we see how everyone interprets this cue word!  Be sure and visit the design team members' blogs as well as Donna's blog (our guest designer this week) and see how they interpreted the cue word! CASology GROWth

CASology GROWth
It's time for a new cue word over at CASology and we're focusing on growth this week!  Spring is definitely emerging in the landscape now and DS1 actually mowed the grass last week for the first time this year!  Things are growing! Week 245 - Grow I chose to combine two sets from STAMPlorations to create this simple design (All You Need is Coffee & Literary Caffeine-ations).  I masked the steam using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink.  The cup was stamped, fussy cut and paper pieced with decorative paper from my stash.  It was then popped up over the steam using foam adhesive.  I stamped the funny sentiment in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and added three brown gemstones to the mug.  That's it! I hope you'll visit the design team member and guest designer blogs and leave them a little blog love when you have a little time this week!  They've done such a great job providing inspiration this week!
