CASology SEASON

CASology SEASON
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This week, we're brainstorming with the word SEASON! Week 246 - Season I have been thinking about the seasons of life lately as my youngest is fast approaching school age and my oldest is getting way too close to starting high school!  Time really does fly and it waits for none of us.  I went with a sympathy card as it seems there have been many funerals for those finishing up their last season of life lately.  It really does make one stop and consider their own life. The flowers are from Uniko Studio's Uniko Style set.  The images were stamped in Amuse Studio inks.  The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and is from one of Paper Trey Ink's anniversary sets I found in my stash.  I love that this ended up being a one layer design.  I thought about adding some glitter, but had second thoughts considering the theme of the card! I hope you'll join us over at CASology this week as we see how everyone interprets this cue word!  Be sure and visit the design team members' blogs as well as Donna's blog (our guest designer this week) and see how they interpreted the cue word! CASology GROWth

CASology GROWth
It's time for a new cue word over at CASology and we're focusing on growth this week!  Spring is definitely emerging in the landscape now and DS1 actually mowed the grass last week for the first time this year!  Things are growing! Week 245 - Grow I chose to combine two sets from STAMPlorations to create this simple design (All You Need is Coffee & Literary Caffeine-ations).  I masked the steam using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink.  The cup was stamped, fussy cut and paper pieced with decorative paper from my stash.  It was then popped up over the steam using foam adhesive.  I stamped the funny sentiment in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and added three brown gemstones to the mug.  That's it! I hope you'll visit the design team member and guest designer blogs and leave them a little blog love when you have a little time this week!  They've done such a great job providing inspiration this week! CASology STRONG

CASology STRONG
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  This one is full of strength and it's going to be interesting to see how everyone interprets it! Week 244 - Strong I decided to use a digital image from Kitty Bee Designs to create my design.  This time of year, winds are often strong and kite flying is a popular spring time activity!  I printed the panda image and then framed it using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die.  I colored the kite with watercolors and then applied a thin layer of sparkle using a Clear Overlay Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.  The bear's eye spot was colored using a Copic C7 gray marker.  The sentiment is from the Precious Remembrance Shop Positive Thoughts set.  The finished main panel is popped up on the card base using foam adhesive for dimension. Be sure and go say hello on the design team member and guest designer blogs! DT Badge

CASology with ICING

CASology with ICING
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  Brainstorming should be rather sweet this week. Week 243 - Icing I used an older Hero Arts robot wooden stamp for this design.  It's from the 3 Robots set.  The simple, clean font sentiment is from the more recent Hero Arts Birthday Animal Silhouettes set.  I stamped the robot first in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coloring it with Copic markers.  I then applied a thin layer of Molotow Art Masking Liquid to the middle of the robot to prevent it from being inked while creating the curvy line.  I used one of the curvy Landscape Dies from A Muse to create a stencil for the inked curve.  After making sure the masking liquid was dry, I used the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Spiced Marmalade (orange) and Faded Jeans (blue) to create the curved line.  I then removed the masking liquid from the robot and applied Orange Slice Stickles for a little sparkle and interest.  The main panel was adhered to a black piece of cardstock to frame it and then the assembled piece was popped up on the card base with foam adhesive.  I couldn't resist adding a couple of googly eyes to finish the design. Don't forget to leave the design team members and our guest designer a little blog love this week for all the wonderful inspiration they've created!  We love hearing from you! DT Badge

I'm thinking it may be a cupcake kind of day in our house.  White...with buttercream frosting.  And, of course, colorful sprinkles! I'm also linking this card up to the April Anything Goes Challenge (as long as it includes Hero Arts images) over at A Blog Named Hero! 2017 Apr Challenge Logo Have a terrific Tuesday! 2017 SignatureContinue Reading...

CASology TEXT

CASology TEXT
A new cue word is up over on the CASology challenge blog and you'll love how many different options it provides!  Just think how many things text appears on!  These days, most everyone is texting (except maybe my father who doesn't care for it at all)! Week 242 - Text I used the hashtags and single words in Waffle Flower's wonderful Bowtiful stamp set to create a very clean and simple design!  White on white is always such a fresh, clean look on a CAS design, isn't it?  The main panel was cut using a die from Mama Elephant's Peek a Frame Die Set.  The hashtags and words were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the little heart was stamped in StampinUp! Pacific Point ink (blue).  The finished main panel was popped up with foam dots to add a little dimension and the design was complete!  This is actually going to our teenage nephew this week! Be sure and take some time to visit the design team member and guest designer blogs and leave them a little blog love this week!  They create such fantastic inspiration each week! DT Badge

CASology MELT

CASology MELT
It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over at CASology!  This week, we're going for a little melting action in the gallery to celebrate the arrival of spring on the calendar! Week 241 - Melt My thoughts turned toward things that tend to make your heart melt.  For me, it's hugs from little ones!  I simply watercolored the main panel and added a little shimmer with a Heidi Swapp Color Shine spritz before adding a simple die cut sentiment (STAMPlorations Hugs Word Die).  The sentiment was adhered to the main panel using foam adhesive to add a little dimension.  The layered main panel was also adhered to the card base with foam dots. 2017 Mar21 MELT Closeup   I hope you'll join in the fun this week and go leave some blog love on the design team members' blogs!  They've created some fantastic inspiration again this week! CASology FOLIAGE

CASology FOLIAGE
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  I think many of us are wishing for spring and the return of plant life in the landscape, so we're jumpstarting things a bit this week! I think of ladybugs and caterpillars when I think of foliage, so I combined bugs with a branch on my design!  I used Clear & Simple's Cute as a Bug set and stamped the two caterpillars in black ink before coloring with green Tombow Dual Brush Pens.  The branch and leaves were stamped on the card base before the caterpillars were attached with foam pieces.  I added the pretty sentiment in black ink.  To finish things, I applied a little sparkle with a Crafter's Companion Clear Overlay Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen and a little red heart shaped gemstone from A Muse Studio. I hope you'll take some time and visit the design team member and guest designer blogs this week!  There is so much beautiful inspiration to see! DT Badge

CASology LANDMARK

CASology LANDMARK
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word to put us back into brainstorming mode!  Like to travel?  This week's gallery will probably offer some sightseeing opportunities!  More the type who likes home and would rather sit back and enjoy life's events?  The gallery will most likely provide inspiration for those too! Week 239 - Landmark I went with a landmark I've never seen in person, but would love to some day, Big Ben!  I'd love to travel to England and see a few other things too! I used two A Muse stamp sets, British Invasion & Clever Girls (retired).  I stamped Big Ben and the trio of birds in black ink directly onto the card base.  I then die cut two hills (Landscape dies) using Grass cardstock.  The simple sentiment was stamped in black ink directly onto one of the die cut pieces.  The die cuts were then attached to the main panel using foam dots for dimension.  The assembled main panel was then attached to the card base using more foam dots.  I thought about adding embellishments, but my minimalist tendencies took over and I left things alone. You'll want to visit the design team members' and guest designer's blogs this week and see where they took the cue word! DT Badge

CASology Double CRUNCH

CASology Double CRUNCH
I'm back again before the weekend begins with another card for the current CRUNCH challenge over at CASology!  I just couldn't resist!  This is such a fun cue word!  I had some lovely craft time this morning with DD and we had a ton of fun! Week 238 - Crunch I used Lawn Fawn's adorable Donut Worry set along with the coordinating Donut Worry Lawn Cut die to create this appetizing clean & simple design!  Who doesn't like a donut with colorful sprinkles?! The main panel is die cut with My Favorite Things' Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die-Namics.  I stamped and die cut the trio of donuts first and then colored each one with Copic markers.  I added colorful sprinkles to one of them using different colors of Stickles.  The fun sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Both the main panel and trio of donuts are popped up with foam dots for dimension. Have a great weekend and don't forget to create your own interpretation of CRUNCH, linking up on the CASology challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CST) for your chance to win the prize from Lawn Fawn, this week's sponsor! CASology CRUNCH

CASology CRUNCH
It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word challenge over at CASology!  I'm guessing we're going to have a fun gallery this week!  There are SO many ways to interpret this one and I had a tough time narrowing my own design down to one theme!  I may just have to create another card for later in the week! Week 238 - Crunch With in-loves who live on a farm, one of my first thoughts was cows or horses eating hay.  Have you ever heard a cow eating hay?!  Now that's a crunch if I've ever heard one!  I stamped the cow from Lawn Fawn's Critters on the Farm set and then colored with Copics and fussy cut the finished image.  I die cut a circle out of the card front with a circle die from Mama Elephant's Pizazz Creative Cuts Die Set  to frame the main image.  I then popped up the cow inside the card with foam dots, adding little tufts of green grass with a Copic marker (& forgot to take a photo).  I wanted the cow's face to be peeking out of the circle and this allowed for that.  The simple sentiment is from the same stamp set and is stamped in black ink directly on the card front. I hope you'll take a little time to visit the design team members' blogs as well as our guest designer's blog this week!  They'd love to hear from you! DT Badge

CASology Hero

CASology Hero
It's Tuesday and time for a new CASology cue word!  This week, we're turning our thoughts toward heroes.  So many unsung ones, aren't there? Avery Elle With Avery Elle as our sponsor, I created a congratulations themed design using their Oh Yeah stamp set.  A sentiment focused card is a good way to keep things clean and simple!  I simply stamped the lower portion of the speech bubble on the main panel, added the simple sentiment and then dressed both up with a touch of clear sparkle using a Wink of Stella Brush Marker!  The main panel was then popped up with foam dots for dimension.  Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!  Can't get much simpler than that! I hope you'll take some time to go visit the design team and guest designer blogs this week!  They've created some fantastic inspiration, once again! DT Badge

CASology YOUTH

CASology YOUTH
A brand new cue word is up over at CASology!  This week, youth is the focus.  Whether you think of babies, quirky habits or wrinkle free skin, you'll want to play along and link up to what's sure to be a fun gallery! 2016 KittyBeeDesigns Logo With Kitty Bee Designs as our sponsor this week, I chose to use their adorable Ipod Panda as my focal image.  I printed the digital image and colored with Copic markers.  I added clear stickles to his headphones because what youth doesn't like a little extra flair?!  I haven't used my Nestablities Circle Dies for what seems like forever, but used one to frame the panda and then popped it up with foam dots to add dimension. I hope you'll take a little time and leave some blog love for the design team and this week's guest designer on their blogs!  They work hard each week to provide inspiration for the challenges!
