CASology MELT

CASology MELT
It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over at CASology!  This week, we're going for a little melting action in the gallery to celebrate the arrival of spring on the calendar! Week 241 - Melt My thoughts turned toward things that tend to make your heart melt.  For me, it's hugs from little ones!  I simply watercolored the main panel and added a little shimmer with a Heidi Swapp Color Shine spritz before adding a simple die cut sentiment (STAMPlorations Hugs Word Die).  The sentiment was adhered to the main panel using foam adhesive to add a little dimension.  The layered main panel was also adhered to the card base with foam dots. 2017 Mar21 MELT Closeup   I hope you'll join in the fun this week and go leave some blog love on the design team members' blogs!  They've created some fantastic inspiration again this week! CASology FOLIAGE

CASology FOLIAGE
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  I think many of us are wishing for spring and the return of plant life in the landscape, so we're jumpstarting things a bit this week! I think of ladybugs and caterpillars when I think of foliage, so I combined bugs with a branch on my design!  I used Clear & Simple's Cute as a Bug set and stamped the two caterpillars in black ink before coloring with green Tombow Dual Brush Pens.  The branch and leaves were stamped on the card base before the caterpillars were attached with foam pieces.  I added the pretty sentiment in black ink.  To finish things, I applied a little sparkle with a Crafter's Companion Clear Overlay Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen and a little red heart shaped gemstone from A Muse Studio. I hope you'll take some time and visit the design team member and guest designer blogs this week!  There is so much beautiful inspiration to see! DT Badge

CASology LANDMARK

CASology LANDMARK
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word to put us back into brainstorming mode!  Like to travel?  This week's gallery will probably offer some sightseeing opportunities!  More the type who likes home and would rather sit back and enjoy life's events?  The gallery will most likely provide inspiration for those too! Week 239 - Landmark I went with a landmark I've never seen in person, but would love to some day, Big Ben!  I'd love to travel to England and see a few other things too! I used two A Muse stamp sets, British Invasion & Clever Girls (retired).  I stamped Big Ben and the trio of birds in black ink directly onto the card base.  I then die cut two hills (Landscape dies) using Grass cardstock.  The simple sentiment was stamped in black ink directly onto one of the die cut pieces.  The die cuts were then attached to the main panel using foam dots for dimension.  The assembled main panel was then attached to the card base using more foam dots.  I thought about adding embellishments, but my minimalist tendencies took over and I left things alone. You'll want to visit the design team members' and guest designer's blogs this week and see where they took the cue word! DT Badge

CASology Double CRUNCH

CASology Double CRUNCH
I'm back again before the weekend begins with another card for the current CRUNCH challenge over at CASology!  I just couldn't resist!  This is such a fun cue word!  I had some lovely craft time this morning with DD and we had a ton of fun! Week 238 - Crunch I used Lawn Fawn's adorable Donut Worry set along with the coordinating Donut Worry Lawn Cut die to create this appetizing clean & simple design!  Who doesn't like a donut with colorful sprinkles?! The main panel is die cut with My Favorite Things' Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die-Namics.  I stamped and die cut the trio of donuts first and then colored each one with Copic markers.  I added colorful sprinkles to one of them using different colors of Stickles.  The fun sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Both the main panel and trio of donuts are popped up with foam dots for dimension. Have a great weekend and don't forget to create your own interpretation of CRUNCH, linking up on the CASology challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CST) for your chance to win the prize from Lawn Fawn, this week's sponsor! CASology CRUNCH

CASology CRUNCH
It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word challenge over at CASology!  I'm guessing we're going to have a fun gallery this week!  There are SO many ways to interpret this one and I had a tough time narrowing my own design down to one theme!  I may just have to create another card for later in the week! Week 238 - Crunch With in-loves who live on a farm, one of my first thoughts was cows or horses eating hay.  Have you ever heard a cow eating hay?!  Now that's a crunch if I've ever heard one!  I stamped the cow from Lawn Fawn's Critters on the Farm set and then colored with Copics and fussy cut the finished image.  I die cut a circle out of the card front with a circle die from Mama Elephant's Pizazz Creative Cuts Die Set  to frame the main image.  I then popped up the cow inside the card with foam dots, adding little tufts of green grass with a Copic marker (& forgot to take a photo).  I wanted the cow's face to be peeking out of the circle and this allowed for that.  The simple sentiment is from the same stamp set and is stamped in black ink directly on the card front. I hope you'll take a little time to visit the design team members' blogs as well as our guest designer's blog this week!  They'd love to hear from you! DT Badge

CASology Hero

CASology Hero
It's Tuesday and time for a new CASology cue word!  This week, we're turning our thoughts toward heroes.  So many unsung ones, aren't there? Avery Elle With Avery Elle as our sponsor, I created a congratulations themed design using their Oh Yeah stamp set.  A sentiment focused card is a good way to keep things clean and simple!  I simply stamped the lower portion of the speech bubble on the main panel, added the simple sentiment and then dressed both up with a touch of clear sparkle using a Wink of Stella Brush Marker!  The main panel was then popped up with foam dots for dimension.  Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!  Can't get much simpler than that! I hope you'll take some time to go visit the design team and guest designer blogs this week!  They've created some fantastic inspiration, once again! DT Badge

CASology YOUTH

CASology YOUTH
A brand new cue word is up over at CASology!  This week, youth is the focus.  Whether you think of babies, quirky habits or wrinkle free skin, you'll want to play along and link up to what's sure to be a fun gallery! 2016 KittyBeeDesigns Logo With Kitty Bee Designs as our sponsor this week, I chose to use their adorable Ipod Panda as my focal image.  I printed the digital image and colored with Copic markers.  I added clear stickles to his headphones because what youth doesn't like a little extra flair?!  I haven't used my Nestablities Circle Dies for what seems like forever, but used one to frame the panda and then popped it up with foam dots to add dimension. I hope you'll take a little time and leave some blog love for the design team and this week's guest designer on their blogs!  They work hard each week to provide inspiration for the challenges! CASology GLISTEN

CASology GLISTEN
It's Tuesday and time for a new cue word over at CASology!  This week is bound to inspire a pretty gallery! With Poppystamps returning as our sponsor, I combined a couple of their stamp sets to create my arctic themed design.  I'm pretty sure Antarctica glistens.  A lot. After stamping and fussy cutting the iceberg and sweet little polar bear, I used a Copic marker on the bear's cheeks and ears.  The iceberg was covered with Diamond Stickles for the GLISTEN-ing effect.  I used a Mama Elephant landscape die to create the grounding water piece and then popped everything up with varying heights of foam dots.  The little red heart was also colored with Copic markers, fussy cut and popped up.  I stamped the sentiment below the scene to preserve white space in the main portion of the card. I hope you'll take some time and visit the design team members' blogs, leaving them a little blog love!  They are such an inspiration each week, brainstorming and creating wonderfully CAS designs to jumpstart everyone's creativity! A CASology CUT

A CASology CUT
It's Tuesday and a new cue word is up for brainstorming over at CASology!  We're going with a small word, but it has many interpretations you could go with!  With STAMPlorations as our sponsor this week, the design team used many of the word die cuts found in the online store to create their CAS designs! I'd chosen the word "Hugs" and used it to create a valentine type card.  I used a pale aqua blue along with pops of red for the main color scheme.  The clouds were stenciled with STAMPlorations' Clouds ARTplorations stencil and white ink.  I stamped a red heart balloon from the Balloons and Banners stamp set, fussy cutting it and dressing it up with red glitter.  It was then adhered to the main panel using foam dots. 2017 Jan17 CUT peek The "hugs" was die cut with the Hugs Word Die polka dot paper using polka dot decorative paper and adhered directly to the main panel.  The assembled main panel was then adhered to the card base using foam dots for dimension. I hope you'll take a little time to visit the design team members' and guest designer's blogs and leave a little blog love this week!  I know they'd love to hear from you!

Winter Greetings

Winter Greetings
Just a quick little hello from my icy spot on the map today!  I had a little time last night to whip up a handful of cards for upcoming due dates on the creative calendar and was inspired by the weather to make a winter themed card too! 2017 Jan16 HappyWinterPine WM Rubber Dance Stamps was our sponsor for last week's FOREST challenge and I just had to use one of the pine images again from the Pines Fir Yew set!  So lovely!  Given that we are a bit iced over here right now due to freezing rain, I added Crystal Effects to the pine image to give it the look of ice.  I really like it!  I simply added three tiny, clear sequins as embellishments after stamping the pretty sentiment and called it good. I hope your week is off to a good start!  It's looking like we'll be thawed out in a day or two and we're looking forward to unseasonably warm temperatures later in the week!  The weather this winter has been a little strange.

Happy Monday!

CASology in the Forest

CASology in the Forest
It's Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  We're taking a hike into the forest and can't wait to see what we find in the gallery! week-231-forest With Rubber Dance Stamps as our sponsor again this week, I used their fantastic Pines Fir Yew set to create a clean & simple design!  I stamped the pine image on kraft cardstock and framed it with a stitched journal card die from my stash.  The pine cones were stamped, fussy cut and dressed up with a little sparkle & frost from a white Wink of Stella brush marker.  These were then popped up for a little added dimension.  I added layered green & red sequins after stamping the selectively inked sentiment in black.  I love the woodsy feel of this card.  The multiple pine images in this set make it quite versatile for creating a variety of looks!  This set is the prize for this week's winner, so be sure and link up your own creation for a chance to win it! CASology COLD
It's Tuesday and time for the first cue word of 2017 over at CASology!  We're focusing on cold things this week! week-230-cold Rubber Dance Stamps is sponsoring us this week and I chose to use the bird and a pretty sentiment from the Frosty Friends set to create my design.  This set is the prize for this week's winner, so you'll want to link up for your chance to win! 2016-rubber-dance-logo I stamped the bird and sentiment in black ink and then colored with Copics.  I die cut the stitched main panel using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Journaling Card die.  I used clear Stickles to create sparkle on the snow and then added three tiny clear sequins as embellishments.  I love winter themed cards and this bird image is just perfect for one!
