A Happy Halloween & a Colour Q Challenge

Happy Halloween!  Things were pretty exciting in our household today.  School Halloween parties and then home to get a quick bite to eat for supper before heading off to trick-or treat!  The boys had been anticipating today for a few weeks.  DD was pretty much clueless about what day it was, but quickly caught on to the trick-or-treating process!  I let them wear their costumes a day or two early so I could get some photos taken before the madness of Halloween night.

We had a zebra in the house.  DS3 loves zebras and after looking through our tote of previously worn costumes, we didn’t find much that he was all that enthused about.  The boys have been such good sports over the years wearing and re-wearing costumes.  This year, I went ahead and purchased a new one for DS3 as I know he will wear it many, many times after Halloween is done!  He loves to dress up!  Last year, we had Tigger living with us for most of the winter months!

DS2 claimed a previously worn skeleton costume out of the costume tote, so that was easy.

DS1 opted for a historical figure this year, George Washington.  He’s not quite as enthused about dressing up, it seems, but still plenty enthused about the candy.

Given that DD adores owls, I was thrilled when I happened upon an owl costume in her size!  When I put it on her and showed her in the mirror, she was all smiles!

I had to make one last Halloween card.  Sad to think the spooky stamp collections will now be laid to rest, only to be resurrected next fall!

I stamped the owl in purple and added orange to the polka dots with a marker.  I colored the leaves and grass with green.  The spider is embellished with black Stickles and I added a little sparkle to the spider web with my Wink of Stella brush marker.  Two black gemstones were used on the owl’s eyes.

I am entering this card into Colour Q’s current challenge.  Such fun colors that coordinate with Halloween!

I hope you had a fun Halloween!  Now it’s on to Thanksgiving planning!

Melissa
