CASology + NBUS
There’s extra excitement over at CASology this week! We’re joining the NBUS Challenge over on Darnell Knauss’ blog! If by some chance you aren’t familiar with Darnell and her wonderful sense of humor, you’ve got to head over to her blog right now and acquaint yourself with her! I promise you will find something to laugh at before you leave her blog! Every. Time.
We know NBUS isn’t really a word. It’s actually a collection of words: Never Been Used Schtuff. Do you have any of that hanging around your house?! I sure do! If there is one thing other than stamps that I tend to collect these days, it would have to be glitter! I used a variety of colors on my creation for this week after finding a whole kit of the stuff in my stash that has never been touched!
I used a Heidi Swapp butterfly stencil from my stash to contain the glitter, although, I found glitter clinging to most everything by the time I got done with this particular project! DH may find glitter in the grout he just finished up in my craft room a little over a day ago! I figure a little glitter never hurt anything! The large, simple sentiment is one I’ve never used from a Winnie & Walter stamp set!
Be sure and stop by Darnell’s lovely blog to say hello and then go ahead and do the same on the design team members’ blogs & this week’s guest designer blog!
Then, be sure and link up your own NBUS creation on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CST)!

GORGEOUS! Keeping it off to one side keeps it clean, but wow, the impact of that glitter!
Arrrghhhh you have no idea how much I love this, well I will tell you…lots and lots and lots. So gorgeous
This just blows me away! Wow! Really love this!
Way to ROCK the glitter Melissa, this is amazing!

How fun is this?!!…Love it!
Awesome card, Melissa! I LOVE all the sparkle on your butterfly!
You know, Melissa, it's awfully hard to create something that can outshine Mother Nature, but by golly, I do believe you've done it with your Glitter Butter Fly!! Just look at all those colors!! I agree with Ardyth, I love that you designed your rare species to be offset on your card. Full-on glitteritity would seem gimmicky and too-too, but with it offset, it is alluring and genius!!
Thank you, again, for the pleasure of linking our two challenges this week and being a guest designer! I know we all link our cards to more than one challenge at a time, but have two challenges ever linked in the spirit of friendship, instead of competition?! You're a trend-setter who is brilliant, kind, and generous! Thank you for promoting NBUS and linking your spectacular card!! Mwah!!! Darnell
The glitter butterfly is gorgeous Melissa. You are one very brave woman opening up glitter when you have four little ones in the house! I will never forget a craft at my sons bday party when he was 4 that involved glitter. Glitter that we founds everywhere in that house for the next 2 years we lived there.
Fantastic card. I love your glitter butterfly. And, speaking of that stencil, I've got one just like it, NBUS waiting for it's turn!
Hey Melissa!! Your butterfly is beautiful. I love all of those glitter colors. So pretty!!
Totally stunning and so brave to let all that glitter loose 😉 I love a bit of glitter… but I never seem to keep the but from becoming a whole heap of bling that just sticks to everything lol. I love this card 🙂
Melissa, this is a STUNNER!! That big chunky glitter is fabulous and was made for that butterfly stencil! 🙂
So the grout is done in the craft room – does that mean the project is almost complete??
Yay, you're so creative Melissa, this is Glitter tastic!!!!!
Stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (It reminds me of my childhood. I used to play with tiny colored papers to adhere on the paper.) Striking design and awesome colors!! I totally love it! I think you would see something similar on my creations in the future. Thanks for the inspiration!
Ultra colourful, yet at the same time so ultra coool . . . great CAS design Melissa! Thank you for the inspiration on CASology! Hazel x

Ah, glitter. Just like Christmas tree pine needles, you'll be finding it in your home…forever. BUT, this card is worth it! Amazingly, strikingly beautiful! Very cool, very graphic, very clever, and very CAS!
