CASology ROMANCE
Happy Heart Day!
CASology’s cue word for the week fits in quite nicely with today’s holiday!
I tend to think along classical and elegant lines when thinking of romance. I, personally, have a bit of romantic relationship with coffee since I can’t seem to live without it. I thought perhaps if I dressed up a to go cup it might be a bit more romantic for Valentine’s Day than the usual kraft colored cups I get at the local coffee shop. Thank you, Uniko Studio, for providing a wonderful coffee cup image (from the I Love Coffee set) for me to play with as I paper pieced with decorative paper that hasn’t seen the light of day in quite some time!
I stamped the coffee cup in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, fussy cut and then paper pieced using a print from Echo Park’s Yours Truly collection (discontinued). The little golden heart is from Uniko’s Strike a Pose set (retired) and is stamped in gold ink. I added a little extra gold shimmer using a Wink of Stella Glitter Gold Brush Marker before attaching it to the cup with foam dots. The main panel is die cut using a die from Simon Says Stamp’s Stitched Rectangles Dies. I stamped the simple sentiment (Uniko’s All Occasion Sentiments #5) in black at the top of the main panel before adhering the cup with foam dots. The assembled panel was also attached to the card base with foam dots. True love in a cup!
I hope you’ll take a little time to leave some blog love on the blogs of the design team members and guest designer this week! They pour a lot of love and creative effort into the inspiration they provide!
Don’t forget to link up your own ROMANCE creation over on the CASology blog by Monday at NOON (CST) for your chance to win the prize from Uniko Studio!
They just happen to be celebrating their 5th anniversary this month! What a milestone!
I am also linking this up with Uniko Studio’s Anything Goes challenge that is going on until February 24th!
Have a terrific Tuesday!

Stunning design – love how you included an intricate pattern while keeping it very clean. The cup looks great offset like that and the gold heart is the perfect finishing touch.
Thank you, Marina! I really enjoyed making this one!
Wow, I’d fall in love with that cup of coffee, for sure! (I’m already in a long-term committed relationship with coffee, but that cup would step it up a notch.)
Brilliant! That elegant paper is fabulous especially with the addition of that sparkly gold heart!
Love your take on Romance, Melissa! I want that coffee cup 🙂
Stunning! Love the overall simplicity of your design, really makes a statement. Thanks for linking up with Uniko.
Love the elegant feel of this card. Crisp GAS perfection x
LOVE the design you have put on the Uniko coffee cup, the monochromatic colour scheme is beautiful and elegant, especially with the little touch of gold. Thanks so much for sharing and joining in on the Uniko Challenge. My apologies for my lateness in popping by and commenting. Hugs Bev x
