CASology: SPROUT
It’s Tuesday and time for a new cue word over at CASology! Spring is ever so slowly trying to arrive here in my part of the country. I see evidence of new leaves cautiously making their appearance, knowing that Old Man Winter doesn’t like to release his grasp any sooner than he has to. Even with a sprinkling of snow in this week’s forecast I keep reassuring myself that eventually people will be planting seeds in their gardens and new life will finally be sprouting beneath the thawed soil. Soon.
I dug out an old StampinUp! set as well as a sentiment from Precious Remembrance Shop’s DIY stamp set to create today’s SPROUT inspired card. I was looking for just the right image and this one came the closest to what I had in mind. I wanted something that looked like brand new growth. Oh, how I wished I had an image of a bean sprout in its earliest stage! I even looked through the baby sets in my stash thinking surely there would be something along that line in them! No such luck.
I used a Heidi Swapp mini stencil to create the striped background. I then stamped the black silhouette image & sentiment. Three small clear sequins were added as embellishments. The main panel was popped up for dimension using foam dots.
Be sure and stop by the design team members’ & guest designer’s blogs to say hello! They work hard each week to provide inspiration!
