It’s Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word over at CASology!  After a week off from blogging (& a much quieter blogging schedule in general),  I’m back and ready to jump in again!  Life has been full on the home front and rather than try to “keep up”, priorities have been re-established and I’m trying hard to just go with the flow of life!  Things even out eventually.  Always have!  I just want to be content and truly present for those who need me most.

I’m guessing this cue word will inspire a lot of holiday cards since the season is upon us!  I couldn’t help but think of the cue word in a more general sense, however.  Are any of you familiar with the children’s book, The Giving Tree?  This is what inspired my design this week.  Anyone ever carved their initials in a tree?

Stamps:  STAMPlorations (Rosebuds – sentiment)

I tried to keep the design as clean as I possibly could, adding texture with a Sizzix embossing folder (Tim Holtz) and cutting out a small heart using a Nestabilities die.  The textured panel was popped up with foam dots and the sentiment was stamped in the little heart window.  The sentiment stands out not only because it is framed, but because it is the only pop of color on the entire card!

Be sure and go say a quick hello to the design team members & this week’s guest designer!  They work so hard each week to create inspiration!

Then, don’t forget to link up your own creation on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CST) for your chance to win a prize from this week’s sponsor, STAMPlorations!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

I just knew you would do something fantastic and different, and you did not disappoint. You really see the world through a different set of eyes, and I always am inspired when I come by. Love your take on tree, and the message in the heart. This is the sort of Valentine I could give to my husband.

BIG fan of The Giving Tree! In fact, art imitated life last week when we had an enormous mature tree felled last week. I thought of The Giving Tree at the time and felt particularly sad. This is such a special take on the cue. Poignant!
