CASology: What’s in a Number?
Summer is filled with birthdays in our house, especially July & August! I went with a birthday themed card since today is DS3’s birthday!
I stamped this cute zebra (Stamps by Judith’s Lg. Zebra Critter) in black ink. I then masked and added the balloons (Sweet Stamp Shop – retired set), paper piecing them with three different green decorative papers from my stash. The sentiment (from Verve’s Making a Statement set) was stamped last. This card is pretty close to being one layer and I like that!

DS3 still loves zebras and requested a zebra themed birthday again this year. Makes the birthday party decorating easy when he requests the same theme twice in a row! We celebrated a little early since grandparents were in the house over the weekend!
Five. How did that happen?! Soon, DD & I will be spending our days together with no boys in the house until mid-afternoon! I’m not sure I’m ready for this! DS3 is our polite, easy going child and I’m already feeling like it’s going to be hard for this momma to watch him take that big step of all day school. Not that I was anxious for my older two to start when it was their turn, but this boy’s sweetness is something a mother wants to hold on to as long as she possibly can. However, time waits for no one & I’ll have to take a deep breath and simply trust.

Happy Birthday! Yes, full-day school is a milestone! You'll get through it (although it will be harder for you than him, I'm sure! lol!) Love your sweet card!

Melissa, I remembered his zebra theme from last year and I'm happy to hear he still likes them! Your card is totally adorable, and I love the pop of color that the balloons provide. I hope he had a nice birthday. I understand your feelings about DS3 and his going off to school. No worries, I have a feeling he will always be your polite, easy-going child. Some things never change! Indeed, deep breaths always help…and so does trust and faith! 🙂
