I’m in the middle of birthday weekend planning, so my creative time is a bit shorter this week.  I’ve got the cake ordered, the present purchased and now I just need to do a grocery store trip sans children by Friday.  DS2 wants a Hummer themed cake (of all things) and an overall theme of automobiles, so I’m brainstorming for creative ideas.  I was going to attempt to create a Hummer shaped cake, but common sense overruled and I ordered a sheet cake decorated with a Hot Wheels Hummer instead.  So far, I have table decor and a few party decorations planned.  Next up:  simple party favors, which are beginning to come together in my mind.  Now to see if I can pull it all off.  Company begins arriving Friday evening.  Stay tuned for after-the-party pictures!

In the meantime…

It seems like forever since I’ve played along with the Color Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.  I checked and it was clear back in June!  This week’s colors are Stampin’ Up’s Regal Rose, Blushing Bride and Lucky Limeade, a rather pretty combination!  I chose Lucky Limeade as the card base and Blushing Bride as the matte & flower color and then added embellishments in those two colors.  I used just a little Regal Rose as an accent on the flower centers.  I tied the twine in three places.  The second and third knots are just pieces of twine tied onto the first piece.

Supplies:
Stamps – SU (Punch Bunch set)
Paper – Gina K white CS, SU Blushing Bride & Lucky Limeade CS
Accessories – SU Lucky Limeade, Blushing Bride, Regal Rose markers, baker’s twine, pink pearls, SU scalloped circle punch, Cuttlebug embossing folder, foam squares (popped up scalloped circle)

    Good luck with the party!!

The card is so sweet. I love the simple image and the addition of those few twine knots are a perfect final touch!
