‘Ello Love

The Olympics are over, but I still love to hear an English accent!  Always have.  I spent a couple years in New Zealand when I was between the ages of six & eight.  Amazingly, I actually picked up that beautiful English accent and, if I didn’t also have a steady supply of American slang words and mannerisms, I may very well have blended right in!  However, I still remember one of my teachers sternly correcting me for saying, “What?” to her when I didn’t hear what was said!  She said (very curtly), “It’s pardon!”  I wonder if I was trying her patience?!

A Muse Studio has a fun stamp set this summer called British Invasion that totally grabbed my attention!  I love the little double-decker bus!  So fun!  I decided to use it to make a little card to slip into DH’s lunchbox this week…

I stamped the adorable bus, cut it out, added black gemstones for tires and then popped it up (a little off center) with a foam dot.  I stamped the sentiment and then added a single heart-shaped gemstone to bring things back to center.  The gemstone was actually a clear one that I colored with a Copic marker.  I finished things off by rounding the two lower corners of the card.  Easy and fun!

Tomorrow family begins to arrive for a certain (soon-to-be) 2-year-old’s birthday party!  With her, my mother is bringing our “new” (it’s used) four-wheel drive Jeep.  According to DH, that is my birthday present since my birthday is this Sunday (shhh…that’s a secret)!  I’m not complaining!  Anything to keep me from sliding backwards down a hill this winter.  Twice in a lifetime is enough…
