Forever My Babies
Is there anything like a new baby?! After having four of my own over the last nine years, I have more of an appreciation for the babies of others! I just love a good baby snuggle! Baby cards are so fun to make and I find myself reminiscing about when the boys were babies like DD is now & then I have to try so hard not to get too nostalgic! There is nothing like looking through their baby albums and suddenly feeling the tears welling up in my eyes as I realize just how quickly they are growing up! Take DS1, for example…
Try as hard as we might, there is no slowing time and I am so thankful for a camera and journal that help me remember a few of the details of those precious days!
The new year brings with it at least five friends & family members (so far) that will be welcoming new bundles of joy! I can’t wait to hear the exciting news for each one! Baby cards are on my list of projects to create and I’m sharing one with you today.

I stamped and fussy cut the little onesie. The little elephant is a separate stamp image and it was colored with Copic markers, including a sparkly Spica pen. The onesie was then popped up with foam dots, as was the entire main panel. I just love soft purple for baby cards! Some of the babies scheduled to arrive already have a pink or blue label, but some will be a surprise so I need to have a few unisex cards ready!
After a cup of hot coffee with a cinnamon bagel, I think I am ready to tackle the day. It’s a grey one here and the landscape is looking rather hazy off in the distance. An icy night is in the forecast, so we’ll see if there will be school in the morning! It’s the last day of school before winter break, so if it is cancelled, the boys will get an extra day at home! DD has her wellness check up in the morning, so hoping the roads aren’t too bad!

Just this morning I was saying to Struan, 10 years ago, you were 4 and Kate was a baby coming up to her first Christmas. Where did the time go?! Enjoy it while it lasts! Lovely simple new baby card!
Oh the sweet memories, it seems like yesterday that my babies were so excited for Santa. Ten years ago they were 6 and 9. Beautiful card.
Sometimes I think we tuck them into bed and the next morning they've grown and changed! Your card is adorable Melissa! Hope the roads are clear and safe tomorrow!
So beautifully said, Melissa. I know everyone tells us to enjoy them because before you know it they will be grown up, and they are so RIGHT! I do miss all the things my mom warned me I would miss some day…I can't help but get nostalgic when I'm around my little baby nieces and nephews! Your sweet baby card is adorable, and what beautiful photos of your son, then and now! Stay safe in the freeze! We are supposed to hit 70 degrees this weekend…THAT should melt the snow on the ground!
Oh I am right there with you on being thankful to capture our children through the years. I can't believe that my “baby” is 8 years old. Time flies. Your sweet little card is adorable.
Great post, Melissa, so full of nostalgia! If only they could be babies for about two years and then start the growing business. It's impossible to believe the twins are nine as of yesterday! I love your new baby card. Those little onesies always make a perfect image for them!
I hope you enjoyed a wonderful anniversary – and still enjoy it all weekend long – and I wish you and your beautiful family the happiest of holidays!! Christmas is really all about the children, so I can just image the joy under your roof this time of year! Thank you so much for your online friendship and support this past year!! Holly Jolly Hugs, Darnell
