Grateful
The past few days, I’ve found my heart filled with a thankfulness for the lives of those who live in a way that inspire me to be my best. To do my best. To live. To learn. To love. There is nothing more precious than grandparents who live in such a way that, in their absence, one can find such a happiness (despite the loss) for what they were. Neither my grandfather nor my grandmother were people of many words, but their countenance spoke more than any words could ever say. When my grandmother spoke, it was with kindness and compassion. When my grandfather spoke, it was with wisdom and truth. Combine those, and what you have is a priceless treasure. I’m so grateful we moved to their area a few years ago and were able to spend time in their presence. It was a privilege we probably took for granted at the time, but now we see the value of those years more than ever. I want to take the lessons they taught me through their lives and plant them deep within my heart so that, in time, I might be even a small measure to others what they were to me.
of course, the “do” should be “did” |
Here’s hoping you have a wonderful Thursday!

WELL said Melissa. When I see the relationship our son has with my parents I am SO grateful. Even as a grown married man he'll hug my dad in the middle of McDonalds! So sweet 😉
Now about this card…LOVE this one girl! The polka dots…nuff said and the colors are so fun!
Such a beautiful post Melissa both your card and your words. That corduroy button is gorgeous.

I'm so sorry you lost your precious grandfather (and grandmother) but you've been truly blessed to have them in your lives for so long. I hope your memories of them carry you through many years to come. Your card is just beautiful, & such a lovely tribute to your loved ones 🙂
