It’s a rather blustery day outdoors, so I decided to finish up a simple card I started last night (before giving in to sleep).

This week’s Clean & Simple Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers includes an inspirational photo of some pretty fabric:

I was instantly drawn to the colors, thinking of SU’s More Mustard and Basic Gray.

What a great excuse to use some gray again!  Using Basic Gray ink, I stamped off the foliage image onto my scrap paper first before stamping it on the white cardstock.  I did this to soften the color a bit.  I then stamped the flower on a scrap piece of cardstock and cut it out.  I sponged the image with some More Mustard ink.  The flower image was stamped again in Basic Gray, this time cutting out only the middle circle and adhering it to the yellow flower.  I then added four matching gemstones to the flower center.  I popped up the finished flower using a couple foam dots to add some dimension.  Finally, I stamped the simple message in Basic Gray.

I seem to find lots of opportunity and inspiration for making thank you cards, but realized while looking through my card stash that I need to be making some birthday cards!  And New Year cards.  And valentines.

Now I’m hoping to bop over to Michaels and snag some of their 77-cent ceramic bakeware for some little baked gifts I’ve been wanting to make!  What a deal!  On top of that, their stamps are 50% off!  Both of these deals are only for today, so best get going!  DS3 is in the midst of potty training and that means this trip needs to be short and sweet!

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Great card! I didn't know what Michael's sales were today but I soon worked it out. And my stamps have multiplied… I think if I had come home with the bakeware that would have sent my DH over the edge.
