TCP #373: Autumn Reminder
October is flying by and so is the Autumn challenge over at The Cat’s Pajamas! Have you played along with us yet?
The leaves are quickly disappearing off trees and cold, windy days are becoming more of a norm. I’m trying not to think about what comes next as I’m really not much of a winter person at all. I enjoy fall, but my least favorite season is winter. The color leaves the landscape, the skies are more cloudy than clear and my extremities can never seem to warm up comfortably. Outdoor activities aren’t things I can endure for very long, but I do try to get outside when the temperatures are in the 30’s (Fahrenheit). Some winters, that’s not very often. I’m hoping this winter isn’t too arctic, especially with the pandemic still raging around us. It would be nice to have outdoor options when indoor public activities aren’t advisable.
For today’s design, I chose to create a one-layer layout, coloring directly on the kraft cardbase with a simple fine brush, pigment ink and a tiny bit of water, as needed. A very simple process that yielded a bit of a storybook illustration look.
This sweet little fox is likely watching the last of the leaves drift slowly to the ground. I imagine his face is a bit wistful as he remembers the last of summer days, the slow down of autumn ones and the winter memories yet to be made.
