Holiday Sparkle
The card I’m sharing today is actually for the SCS Clean & Simple sketch challenge from Monday. I finally got an idea I had brewing figured out and finished this up last night!
Sentiment stamp: The Craft’s Meow |
I stamped the large sentiment in SU’s Old Olive ink. Then, I used my largest Martha Stewart snowflake punch and some inexpensive glitter cardstock that I found in my paper file. It was quite a challenge to get it to punch all the way through the cardstock and, at one point, I thought I was going to have to go buy some tweezers to dig the little pieces out that became wedged in the punch! I did get them out and tried again, determined to get a glittery snowflake out of it! It worked after a little sitting and stomping on the punch…just kidding. It did remind me of trying to close an overstuffed suitcase, though! I may just have to use a Spellbinders die next time!
The sun in shining and it’s looking like a beautiful day! I can’t decide between house cleaning or crafty activities! It should be a no-brainer, but for some reason, sunshine makes me want to bring out the lemon scented cleaners and make everything shine! Am I off my rocker?!

I'm feeling like a bit of both too, so I decluttered the basement and now I”m getting crafty…with glitter too! My first time breaking out some serious glitter. Eeep!
This is lovely Melissa! Oh yes…the frustrations the punches can bring with heavy paper 😉
Outstanding! Love that big sentiment too!

What a beautiful card Melissa!
This is so pretty. I love how you made the holes for the snowflake to hang on. I know what you mean about using those MS punches–they are gorgeous, but sure make me appreciate my dies.
You aren't off your rocker..I have to have tables cleaned off on the first floor before I can start crafting…not sure why!! Your card is gorgeous. Love the green against the crisp white.
Perfect – LOVE the use of olive! I've tried punching glitter cardstock – NEVER works – I'm impressed you an entire snowflake out – in ONE piece!!
