Be Yourself with Honey Bee Stamps
How about some more Honey Bee Stamps new release inspiration this week? I am having so much fun with the mermaid in the Ocean Bliss set! Have you seen all the adorable mermaids in the new release yet?! So. Much. Fun.
For this design, I inked a background panel using distress oxide inks. I applied greenish-blue ink to an acrylic stamping block, spritzed the block lightly with water and then smooshed it onto a piece of white cardstock. I then stamped the border image on this with the same color ink and fussy cut it before popping it up on the main panel with foam adhesive. The larger “Be” sentiment was selectively colored as the original sentiment is actually spelled “Bee”! Both the large and small sentiments were stamped in black. I then stamped the mermaid, die cut it with the coordinating die and then colored with Copic markers only the areas of the image that would be showing above the water. I then carefully trimmed of the center of the image off the mermaid and popped up the two remaining pieces behind the border image using more foam adhesive. I love that it looks like she is swimming! I added a little sparkle to her tail and some clear dew drops as embellishments.
The assembled main panel was then framed using a piece of black cardstock and then popped up on the card base using foam adhesive. I love to think outside the box with images and this was one way to use this mermaid image creatively!

I like that you have her head and tail both peeking out from the swirly waves. This is wonderful Melissa!
