Inspired by Hope
This week’s cue word over at CASology is a one I have always considered beautiful. I just love the sound of it being spoken. For me, just the idea of “hope” takes me beyond today and lifts me far above the current struggles in this thing called Life. We all have struggles, but where there is a struggle, there is life and where there is life, there is hope. This thought has encouraged me many, many times!
When I first started working on coming up with an idea for the challenge, I was thinking I would use a sentiment with the word “hope” in it or create something with a pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness. I had a change of heart when the image of a rainbow entered my mind and I found myself smiling a great big smile! Of course! What better symbol of hope than a beautiful rainbow?! I soon remembered I had a rainbow die in my stash from My Favorite Things!
I’ll admit, I had to stop and look up what color “indigo” is exactly as I have stamp pads in my stash that are a completely different shade of color than what I had in my mind, so had to go Google the colors of the rainbow to make sure I got it just right (I’m that way…)! I’m still not completely sure my indigo is exactly the right shade, but I only have so many colors of cardstock, you know!
I found a very simple, encouraging sentiment in my February 2012 Unity Kit of the Month and added three small gemstones as embellishments.
I’m setting this card on a little shelf in the kitchen for the week as I need something colorful to look at while waiting for the spring blooms to appear!
I hope you have some time to visit the design team members’ blogs this week as they’ve created some wonderful inspiration! Then, don’t forget to link up your own HOPE creation by Sunday at 4:00 p.m. (CDT)!

Perfection!!! LOVE!
This is gorgeous – the original promise of hope! I love your idea of keeping it for yourself at least for a while! Bring on the Spring!
Here's hoping (no pun intended…well maybe a little…)that by putting your rainbow in the window, spring will also be encouraged to make it's real appearance! Sweet card, Melissa. Very hopeful! Bev
LURVE LURVE LURVE!!! That is all.

love this, Melissa! a rainbow is the perfect symbol of hope! (I have that MFT rainbow and yikes!! I have never used it!!)
Oh, Melissa, nothing says hope like a rainbow! I love that die, and I think your colors are perfect! Such wonderful inspiration for this week's cue!
This is CAS perfection ~ love the rainbow. I think I use google more for CASology than any other challenge to try to give me a slightly different idea than what first comes to mind when I see the cue word.
Beautifully said, Melissa, and your card is beautifully representative of hope. I think your colors are perfect and I love that you are putting this up on your kitchen shelf for your own inspiration!!
(I giggled when I read that you had to Google the colors of the rainbow coz I did EZACTLY the same thing last week when messing around with my chevron dies! Too funny. And I don't have any indigo ink pads or markers either. Waz up with that in all the hunnerts I do have?!)
I love rainbows…and this one is beautiful. Your colors look great to me. I did a rainbow card last week…and I too looked up the colors for a rainbow online…have to get it right, you know! LOL! The sentiment you used is something I've told my children for years….and it is so true…this too shall pass…
Is there anything sweeter than a rainbow? It just cheers the heart ! I remember the ROYGBIV for the rainbow colors! Very cute card!
