Life is Abuzz
The days seem longer now that more hours of daylight are ours. Outdoor temperatures are finally consistently warmer and it seems like that signals a general uptick in activity around the house! The neighbor kids are over more, the boys are in and out a lot with requests for this or that, house projects abound and DD is raring to be in the middle of it all! And to think summer break hasn’t even started yet!
Despite it all, I do seem to spontaneously wander down to my craft room when all is quiet in the house and I feel like I need some down time. Those two things rarely happen at the same time, but when they do, I find that I actually have to convince myself that it’s okay to go get crafty for a little while! The to do list is vicious that way.
I actually made two cards for this week’s BEE challenge over at CASology and completely forgot to include it in my Tuesday post. Not surprising, really!
I used a Nestabilities hexagon die to create a trio of hexagons on a rectangular white panel of cardstock. I filled in the hexagons with yellow polka dot decorative paper. Three black sequins were added as embellishments (Notice they resemble hexagons too?!) and then I popped up the entire panel with foam dots for dimension! The black die cut letters were created using Mama Elephant dies. Lots of white space again, but plenty of dimension too!
Thanks for being patient while I work through life’s flurry of activity! I have plenty of blog topic ideas, but not enough time to actually make them materialize for you here on the blog! I’ll post as I have the time, so don’t give up on me!

Such a sweet photo of your baby girl! I think your priorities are most definitely straight and your card is most definitely cute. Love the polka dot hexagons!
You are definitely in a season of life where the kids take major time and energy. I can't believe how big your sweet DD is getting! I love the mix of your hexagons and sequins-very trendy and cute!
We'll never give up on you, Melissa! Enjoy life with the kiddies and keep sharing your gorgeous photos. 🙂 Hugs!
SUPER CUTE, love these hexes!!
Melissa, your priorities are definitely in order, and yes, you can give yourself permission to sneak a few minutes to craft. You need to “care for the caregiver,” too, you know! I love this card and the clean layers…and I adore the photos of your darling little ones…so precious!
You are either the worlds best photographer, or you have the worlds cutest kids, or both. My money is on both. And, your card rocks, too. Enjoy your littles while they are young. They will be grown up before you can blink, and you'll have all the time in the world to craft.
I vote for cutest kids Melissa–melt my heart every time! Love your fantastic card too!
