Loving You
Happy Saturday! Yesterday was a no school day for us and, despite the extra noise and commotion in the house, I actually found a little crafting time mid-afternoon! DD is really in love with painting these days and loves to spend time in the craft room with me. Granted, I have many little clean up moments to tend to, but overall, we have fun crafting together!
I’ve been trying to get Valentine’s Day things wrapped up. School valentine exchanges are coming up next Tuesday and I like to have a little something ready to give our kids at supper on the holiday. The local schools don’t allow sugary treats anymore, so pencils it is this year. For here at home, I try not to go overboard with sugary gifts either, but I do let the kids indulge a little. Moderation in everything is my personal motto!
I was going through some of my beloved Unity Stamp Co. stash recently and realized I have so many treasures hidden away that I haven’t touched in ages! Time to change that! I created a clean and simple valentine by combining a pretty sentiment from the November 2012 Kit of the Month with hearts from the adorable Loads of Love set. I stamped the hearts in red and then applied sparkle with a Crafter’s Companion Clear Overlay Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen, one of my new favorites. The sentiment was stamped in black ink. The main panel was created using Mama Elephant’s Peek a Frame Creative Cuts Die Set . I added a tiny clear gemstone to one of the hearts before popping up the finished main panel with foam dots.
A very simple valentine in classic colors! This could be modified using different sentiments for a variety of people. Quick and easy is my ball game and this design is so easy to mass produce!
Have a wonderful weekend!
