Plant Pizzazz
I couldn’t resist creating a card for this week’s color duo over at Dynamic Duos! With a pretty green paired with black, how could I not play along?!
I even happened to be thinking about plant images before I read the dessert option, so all worked out well!
I’ve had this single cling stamp image in my stash for a while now, waiting for the opportunity to create something with it. I don’t know how many times I’ve picked it up, eyeballed it for a moment and put it back. Luck was with it and it was finally kissed with ink!
I inked it up with Pear Pizzazz and went back over the stems with a Basic Black marker before stamping it on white cardstock. I trimmed and layered the main image panel on Basic Black cardstock. I decided I needed to bring in a little more of the green, so added the strip of Pear Pizzazz cardstock to the card base before permanently affixing the main image panel with foam dots. The clear Stickles were added at the end. What’s a card without at least a little sparkle?!
I’m wondering where the week is going! It’s Thursday already and I don’t feel like I’ve really accomplished anything profound. Such is the story of Summer, I suppose. Some hot days are beginning this week for those of us here in the Midwest! I had to double check the freezer to make sure I have plenty of frozen berries for smoothies! This mama and her personalized space heater need to keep comfortable! I’d forgotten how much warmer summers seem when you have a little person attached to your midsection! Funny how we forget certain things. Only 8 or 9 weeks to go now!
Have a wonderful Thursday!

Stunning card. You have hit the grand slam with this card. It is absolutely gorgeous. The bit of green behind the main panel and the touch of stickles are absolutely perfect. Gorgeous card. Hope you and the little Miss are doing well. I've got a 'surprise' grandbaby coming in September. Aren't babies just the most wonderful blessings in the world?! So happy for you. Bev : )
LOVE those flowers – I thought maybe you created them by sponging a circle mask – even better that it's a stamp! I planned my babies so I wouldn't be pregnant in the summer (well, the first one was due in early June but didn't arrive until the 25th – I had to actually decline certain events because I had no shoes I could get my feet into!) – I so hate being hot! Keep cool, my friend!
Love the whimsical flowers Melissa, cute card! Stay cool my friend, the heat is on it's way!!
Wonderful flowers! And I love the colour combination 🙂
