Pond Memories

With summer break winding down, I find myself thinking about my own childhood memories of summer! For me, there were a couple summers when my family went to stay for a few days with some friends at their old farmhouse in rural Wisconsin. They had a pond and we spent a fair amount of time fishing. I was never one to actually touch a fish, but I sure enjoyed luring them in! My father, being a vet, always had some kind of interesting tidbit to share with us regarding fish anatomy, but I don’t remember any of that! Poor dad!
Today is the beginning of a new cue word challenge over at CASology and this week the word is POND!
I had to create something with little fish on it! I always managed to catch sunfish when fishing. I thought they were pretty…for a fish! I decided to use blue fish on my card just because I like the color blue with white (a good reason, right?). I used a textured cardstock this week to give things a little character. The fish panel is matted on SU’s Pacific Point cadstock and then popped up with foam dots. I tried adding some simple embellishments, but ended up deciding it was too much and left them off!

I remember fishing in the pond near our house. I wouldn't touch the fish either. Your blue fish are sweet!
