Rushing into Autumn
Autumn has officially arrived on the calendar and over at CASology, but the slow, lazy days it supposedly brings are not happening yet here in the house! I did, however, eek out a very clean and simple autumn card for this week’s challenge over the weekend and it felt so good to have just a moment of quiet, creative time!
I’ve been seeing a lot of kraft cards recently and realized again just how much I love kraft cardstock! It seemed like a good color for an autumn card, so I went with it.
I layered a panel of kraft over kraft for dimension and kept the rest of the design one layer. I simply stamped the bare tree and sentiment and added one little red leaf, holding on for dear life. That’s a picture of how I typically feel when autumn begins to give way to winter! I’m just never really ready for the cold, white stuff. Thankfully, autumn gives us some gentle preparation for the inevitable.
Be sure and visit the rest of the CASology design team members’ blogs as well as this week’s guest designer’s blog for more wonderful autumn inspiration and then be sure and link up your own creation on the challenge blog by Sunday at 4:00 p.m. (CDT) for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate to DeNami Designs’ online store!

There is a whole novel in that one leaf hanging by a thread from the bare branches. Fabulous card!

Kraft really emphasizes the autumnal feeling of this – love the pop of red!

This is so sweet….perfectly CAS! That little leaf is divine! And thank you for having me as your guest designer this week!
Oh, this card is lovely…it evokes a feeling of late autumn when most leaves have fallen but that one last pop of color hangs on…and we hang onto it, too, so winter does not yet arrive! I ADORE this card, Melissa!
