It’s Tuesday and time for a brand new cue word challenge at CASology!  That’s not all that’s new on the challenge blog this week!  The blog got a makeover, so you’ll have to go check it out!

I found myself thinking of the gears in a clock for some reason and I remembered I had a Prickley Pear image that would work!

Stamps:  Prickley Pear (sentiment, clock gear) , Uniko Studio (border stamp)
Paper:  SU cardstock (Soft Suede, Very Vanilla)
Ink:  SU (Soft Suede)
Accessories:  gold glitter glue, circle punch, distressing tool, sponge, foam dots

I stamped the clock face and punched it out with a circle punch.  I then cut, stamped, distressed and sponged the center panel, adhering it to a base of Soft Suede cardstock.  The layered panel and clock face were both popped up with foam dots for dimension.  A little gold glitter glue was added to the clock face to add a little interest and to draw the eye to the main image.

I hope you’ll visit the rest of the design team members’ blogs and this week’s guest designer’s blog!  They really know how to dish out creative inspiration!  Then, be sure and link up your own WHEELS creation on the challenge blog by Sunday at 4:00 p.m. (CDT)!

The last week of school before summer vacation starts is upon us!  The boys are rather excited to be done with another school year and I’m sure that, at this point, the teachers are too!  I just can’t imagine!  As a mother, I’m bracing myself for the influx of papers that will be happening in my kitchen for the next four days!  It’s absolutely amazing the amount of paper and art projects that come home throughout the course of a school year and it always catches me a little off guard when the end of the school year piles walk in the door!  I keep thinking, “Where did this stuff come from?!”

Have a marvelous Monday!

As least now parents can take pictures of kids' art work and not have boxes of rotting macaroni art up in the attic! That aside, the pure joy of three little guys on the last day of school must be elixir for the soul!!

Your clock card is really stunning, Melissa! What a clever and unique take on “wheels!”

Melissa, I love how your “wheels” were turning when you went with the clock theme for your card…so clever! Love the subtle colors and gold sparkle! I hear you about the influx of papers at the end of the school year…it takes me a few days to get through it all! Good luck and happy summer!
