Happy Monday!  I hope you had a great weekend!

Now that December has arrived, I thought I could probably share some winter themed cards I made recently.  I don’t typically send out holiday cards, but since many challenges this time of year include holiday themes, I tried my hand at making a clean and simple one for last week’s holiday themed CAS challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.

I simply stamped a tree image from The Craft’s Meow onto SU’s Brushed Silver cardstock using Wild Wasabi ink and cut it out.  I stamped the row of circles onto a strip of Brushed Silver cardstock using Encore’s silver ink and layered it over the tree.  The sentiment was stamped in silver also and then I added three tiny red gemstones to finish it off.  I love the way the silver cardstock softens the appearance of the Wild Wasabi ink!

For this card, I stamped and fussy cut the snowman and then colored the nose and heart with Copic markers.  I popped him up with foam dots.  I stamped the sentiment and added clear Stickles to the heart.  I added the piece of washi tape to the upper left corner.  I was hoping the extra red would help bring out the red in the snowman’s heart a bit.  Last, I stamped three snowflakes in Encore silver ink, adding clear gemstones to the centers.  I’m really liking the Brushed Silver cardstock right now, if you didn’t notice!

Now I’m off to rest.  I woke up yesterday morning while we were away with the beginning of what I thought was a doozy of a head cold, but I am also feeling rather fatigued & slightly achy, so hoping this is not the beginning of something worse!  Ick.  It’s just DS3 and I home today, so I may just allow myself a nap this afternoon when he takes his!  Love it when I have a valid excuse for one of those!

Have a magnificent Monday!

These are both gorgeous – love the geometric shapes in the first and the snowman is adorable!

Both fabulous Holiday cards Melissa, I really like that tree and the chubby snowman. So hoping you do not get sick, sending good thoughts. My cold is taking the laryngitis route and I think my family is enjoying it.

I'm liking your silver paper too Melissa! These are both perfect holiday cards! Sure hope you feel better soon, so hard to be sick at this busy time of year.

Two absolutely gorgeous cards! I hope your sickness goes away quickly. No fun at all anytime of year, but especially this time of year.

Love the touch of washi and the sprinkled snowflakes on your CAS beauty.
